I'm out until Jan. 10 when bow hunting closes....or until I shoot the next state typical deer!!! Seriously I am a die hard bow hunter and my crawling is second to hunting. I will follow this thread and if things work out for a GTG I will show up

Good luck on the hunt, I had tp give that up I didn't have the time anymore working harvest really takes up time. We got a beast of a buck around here in ely and it is a beast. Say if ya get time on a weekend lmk I'm only 20 min or so from the hobby shop track if I'm free I'd be able to meet ya there for some wheeling.

Bubba hook me up on spot to hunt that buck and I will crawl the rest of the winter with you!!! Any leads or pics of it ? The next one I need to put up on the wall needs to 160" or better or a really unique rack. Let me in on the hunt and I will help keep your auto insurance lower!!!LOL

Is this what it take to get you on the board more? Talk bow hunting and you get wood. Just ridin yuh Steve I've been wanting to crawl but nobody seems to be interested this year. Maybe next. I've been racing at home and have my crawlers tore down so I'm out for the near future.

Hell, if only you guys were closer to me (or vice versa)! I've been trying to make my way to the DM area to do a walk through of a possible vendor (work related)...would definitely pack the super for the trip.

Bart Bender , I forgot you have your own track now. I haven't run my nitro stuff for 3 years now. When I get all my tags filled and if the snow stays away, maybe a renegade run on your track? and a crawl to boot. Would like to see the hobby shop you go to sounds kind of like a cool shop to check out if I'm in the neighborhood. But first things first, I have to spend countless hours staring into the woods and thinking of how to build my junk better while waiting for my shots!!!

A Sailorville run wouldn't be too bad. That would be a good day run.

MaxxRunner Don't get too worked up about racing @ my place. It's a good little short course track for my Slash, but the guys that run their T-Maxx's and Rustlers it's just not enough to build lots of speed. Very technical, just not fast.

Bart bender you should know that you don't have to go fast to have a good time!! But I bet my TMaxx would kill it. I had all the drag records in this area, so it goes fast but well....the driver stills sucks!!!!

I am always up for crawling somewhere.
Where are you guys from and where do ya'll go crawlin'?
I live near Jewell and I found a large pile of rubble next to the highway so I have been crawling around on that in my spare time.
I have also been down to Cambridge RC Speedway and surveyed their rock pile. I will be working with Charlie on building a course there.
Also working on laying the ground work for a Crawler club. Once that is up and running, I will hopefully be putting together a sanctioned competition.

We don't crawl we just talk about it. I'm from Center Point and crawl, ussually in North Liberty @ Mid America Hobbies. We do have some nice spots at the spillways but the weather has not cooperated last couple of years. Been to Sailorville before. Nice place but haven't had an update on it's condition since the floods. Have heard of Cambridge but never seen any pics.

I have heard that the crawl spot at Sailorville was washed away during the flood last summer. I think it was near the spillway and if that is true then I am sure its gone. They had the gates fully open trying to save the dam during the flood.

That sucks. It was at a kuldisack before the spill way. Huge slabs of rock that you had to hike a couple hundred yards to get to. Gooba was our DM scout, but he never got a status report back to us after the flood.

Couple picks of a comp we had there once when MWRCA was still in action.

That looks like fun. I might have to take a drive down there and scout it out.
Looks a lot better than the busted up concrete and dirt that I have been crawling on the last few days.

A lot if not most of that rock was washed away.

Holy crap. Amazing the power of flood water. It was a killer super coarse area. The 2.2's were fun too.

Here's the best pic of what the area looks like:

The road that was washed out is closed indefinitely too according to the Army Core of Engineers.
