Sioux Falls SD Comp

SDCrawls and I have been working on getting the paperwork together. Actually, SDCrawls has been doing most of the work...for which I am very grateful.

I will continue working on this as I would like to have a comp there this fall.

We are planning on a several comps through out Iowa during 2010 and if all goes well with the city, we will have the grand finale in Sioux Falls.

I will be posting periodic updates here as well as my own site...so stay tuned.

Ha! Nothing major, just a long planned out email to the city and then forwarding the paper work to you . It's a darn long permit to fill out, and I'll help with what ever I can. I really have no issues with being the contact for the city who has to be there for the event.

Dewy and or whoever is thinking about holding an event in any city park you should look into the special use permit. It might be a good idea to have sdcrawls setup a meeting with someone so you can discus with them what you want to do. Have them help you fill out the premit request. I am sure it will help if you have a plan to make sure you leave the park the way you found it (no mess / trash / no park property broken). Explain how you will keep other park users safe.
In short have a good plan before you do anything on paper.

Got ya covered, I emailed the city parks dept last week and got the permits on monday.

It's an old quartz / granite quarry with a huge spill way and falls system. I don't think they're is anything like that there. As long as no one is tearing up the grass and dropping garbage on the ground we should be good to go. Maybe we make a rule that who ever litters or fawks up gets rolled?
