Default Mid America Hobbies is CLOSED!!

The economy killed him, and Bill has closed his doors. I hope he gets ahold of me so I can have my modules back. If anyone has a permanent home for a 20'X8' set up please let me no. They are 10 4'X4' modules ranging in weight from over 200lbs to 150lbs roughly. So stairs is not an option.

Well somminabeitch. Was just talking it over with the wife, trying to set things up to visit some family in the south central IA area on a weekend you'd all be crawling. Kind of a recon, then slap down a crawler scheme in my head.

That really bites the big one, hate seeing hobby shops close down. I know how bad it sucks not having a LHS, I'd rather pay too much to someone local, then order parts from a name without a face. God knows I've given thought to buying into the HobbyTown franchise and opening up in Sioux City...but couldn't see a way to make it sustainable.

Man, that really sucks.

That sucks. If my local guy didnt have so many air plane guys and the other part of his electronics store im sure he would be hurting big time. He has had the same Jato sitting in there for like 5 months.

Yep sucks since he was the only RC featuring Hobby Shop. We have Box Kar Hobbies in CR but you can gather what they focus on. You can order stuff through them, but I can do that from home.

I am retracting my statement about Box Car Hobbies. Makkem and I went in there the other day. Holy Schmitt, I think they've doubled their RC inventory since they moved into the smaller location. They have more stuff in there than Bill EVER had. Plus Walt works there and He's the man that sold me my very first rc car back in '79

Tim Dunahue? I used to race with him at the outdoor track at Hawkeye Downs. He drove his piece of crap van there and that was his mobile shop. It was Tim and Bill Wright that sold parts at the track. Tim's been gone for 10 years or so. He was a damn nice guy.

That blue font really sucks Bubba.

No never was there. I got out of RC racing when I turned 16. That was (GULP) 21 years ago. Not sure if he had his shop then.

Just a friendly reminder support your local hobby shop. When there gone you'll wish you had. This better Bart. I like green.

I'm not saying that I've had poor service with him that's just what I've herd. As most of you may know I work at box kar. And never really had the chance to see his shop much or work with bill or Travis. I will say this though it's never a good this too loose a track that's got sure.
