Snowed in?

I am. Left for work at 630 this morning and bailed at about 10 barely made it home then. Buddy I live with had picked me up some parts for my snowmobile but cant get back to our place the roads are so bad. We got 6-8 inchs last night and its blowing all over the place. Im fairly certain all the snow from the christmas blizzard is blowing too.

Ive been playing with my Rustler off and on all day. Going to tear into my Axial build here after supper.

Only good thing about this is the Deer are probably going to be on the move big time saturday so I should be able to fill my tag easily.

Im about 15 miles south of storm lake if you guys are wondering. How are you guys dealing with this wonderful weather.

Not getting any sleep cause I plow this white shit. Started at 2am after an eight hour shift, what ever day that was, Wednesday? Going back in an hour after having about 2 1/2 hr nap while trying to watch my 5 yr old due to school being cancelled.

here in Sioux City we have about 30" on the ground and crazy mad wind blowing it everywhere... a lot of the streets a drifting shut

WarMachine 01-07-2010 09:22 PM

Wife got stuck in the drive way on account of a thoughtful LeMars Plow driver...not his fault really....but still sucks. Also got a chance to brave the supposedly closed Hwy 60 to rescue the father in law at his work in Orange City, seriously, who in their right mind doesn't carry jumper cables....evidently all of his coworkers (He pulled the cable out of one end trying to reach).

Is it spring yet?

Omaha has had 36 inches of snow this season so far. I have 5 foot drifts in the front and back yard. Hope everyone makes it through this alright"thumbsup"

Why did you move to the land of frozen winters and road salt?

Family, school, and job.

As much as it sucks right now, when it's 75 in August and I can mow my grass w/o having a heat stroke (120 degrees in my home town is normal that time of year), it all balances out.

DeweyCJ5 01-08-2010 05:20 AM

at 6am -9... with windchill it feels like -37

Drey 01-08-2010 12:51 PM

Its 2 in the afternoon after a replacement bulb in the heat lamp at 630 this morning our well is still froze.

WarMachine 01-08-2010 01:28 PM

Gonna take awhile with one bulb once the ice forms. You could try heat tape if plastic pipes. If metal pipes use a hand held butane torch. Both available just about everywhere.

Drey 01-08-2010 05:36 PM

It was working by 330. As long as the lamp stays it keeps up just find. I need to rig up a light that you can see from our house to show the heat lamp is on.
