The two spots in Coralville are right off I80 so 1hr 45 min. Of course Dubuque is another 1 1/2hrs from CR so 3 1/2 hrs. The Shack is just north of CR, 2hrs. We are hoping to have some spots a little closer for you Capital guys

So, if we built a crawling spot at our RV park, is there people that would use it? Or, does everyone live out east?

My personal course is plywood, scrap wood, chicken wire, fabric, and quick crete. If you want a more permanent course natural rock, bed rock, is the best. Boulders are what a lot of people run on, but they are everyones least favorite. Unless you fill in the big gaps with smaller rocks they are pretty treacherous.

I'd be game to build one if I had help, because I wouldn't want to do it halfway. When you say bed rock, do you mean river rock? Same thing?

Have any of you guys tried Ledges state park just south of Boone? adunphy and myself crawl a lot in Doliver state park about 15 mins south of Fort Dodge its a great place for waterproofed scalers and underneath the bridge by the rangers place you crawl there year round. That spot is more fun for crawlers.

MadDawg, is there any spots in Webster City to crawl?! If i remember right the Briggs Woods bike path may have a couple spots by it...

It was awesome!!

We were at the best spot in the state of Iowa, nice weather, good food and awesome courses.....it couldn't have been any better..

I noticed your from the Waterloo area, is there anything around there to crawl? I know from my 1:1 days, there was a new off road club starting up there. I think they had access to an old rock quarry. Waterloo is centrally located for our group....I would love to put something together there.

yeah, i just updated my location to Des Moines.... had to make an emergency move here. found a practice spot in waterloo, but nothing i would try to sell someone on. small and just some boulders, ran it for all of 3 minutes once. seemed like it would have been a fun practice spot. now scouting in des moines. 2 hours pissed away today. nothing so far. the only rocks im finding are landscaping in peoples yards. not a sign of any bedrock or formations. might have to cruise up to ledges, but dont recall there being much to crawl there. ugh.
as for the off road club in waterloo, they have a park just off of 218 north of 20. lots of dirt and clay and some riprap, didnt look so hot for crawling.
