I live east of Fort Dodge, or just north of Woolstock if ya know where that is.

IaROCK.org is where you will find all the Iowa rock crawler guys. We try to have a comp or get together every month.

Our indoor crawler course is going mobile so that will be traveling around Iowa this winter.

Follow the link in my sig to find IaROCK.

What kinda crawler are you getting?

I'm doing some research about buying my first rock crawler. Any Advice would be really appreciated, Looking at a Gmade R1 or MK42 Crawler.

the Gmade R1 looks pretty damn good right out of the box, providing you fill it with decent electronics.

my first crawler will be ridiculous, I just have to sell a few bike parts to afford it.

DMG Nemesis chassis
integy 55t lathe
novak rooster
RC4WD shocks
TLT axles
lots of aluminum and some cf

and at a price I cant pass up.

The R1 is a TANK. Honestly for a shafty you'll be hard pressed to find a better rig than the LCC. It is in the majority with IaROCK members. I run the 'Ol AX10 highly modified and it's, meh. MOA you can't go wrong with a Bully or Berg rig. Kratos won our Fossil challenge with a HR MOA rig. We do have a XR10 that is showing great promise.

Enroute Tracer V2 is what I'm thinking of going with. I'm a dive in and learn to swim type. Got some nice aluminum bar stock gonna try and design a few weighted wheels. I also have a couple of awesome spots scouted to test at. Thanks for the advice. When the weather gets better we need to gather someplace for a day. any indoor places around central Iowa?

I would go with the V2 axles alone and the T1E chassis. Wheels, I'd go light not heavy. Add weight if you think you need it. With the chassis you won't need much front bias.

Check out IaROCK.org. That's where us Ia guys hang. Ever since MidAmerica Hobbies closed in North Liberty the indoor course is at My 'Hobby Shack' outside

We should plan a small des moines G2G very soon. I have an indoor, warm, dry, food and drink serving place I can host it. I just need a course.

Hey guys,

I just got into crawling and will be spending middle to late march to beginning of November in Adel, just west of Des Moines. I definitely would like to hang out.

Hey raven. As relic said most of us IaROCKers are from eastern Ia. MadDawg travels the farthest from Webster City. There are some guys from Dubuque and several from the Cedar Rapids and surrounding area. The top drivers are from Center Point

A big group of us is attending the Feb 25th NSCA comp. Your more than welcome to ride along.
