Ben look wat was on the homepage.

Let's start running comps now even if it is only 4 of us. Just get some stats going for the MWRCA. They are sounding like nationals will be decided on who is going in april or may.

That pic has been on there for a long time, like when the slideshow first started but it does get mixed around and almost never pops up. I really miss the old beauty of the that Nissan shell.

Yeah i'm not really sure what to do. I mean we really can't start the season now it's gonna snow soon. I'm definitly with you on getting our stats up though.

When is moab 07?

I know others are thinking of a 6 comps over 3 months approach.

(Colorado's winter series)
Event #1 Sunday 11/26/06 Location-Red Rocks
Event #2 Sunday 12/10/06 Location-Palmer Park
Event #3 Sunday 01/07/07 Location-TBA
Event #4 Sunday 02/04/07 Location-TBA
Event #5 Sunday 03/04/07 Location-TBA
Event #6 Sunday 04/15/07 Location-TBA
Make up date 05/13/07

From what I can see its up in the air though. The club president (me I guess) should be able to determine how many comps are required to be eligible for moab. With a club of our size I'm pretty sure we all know of the people that have the strive to want to go. However, I don't think it would be a bad idea to follow the 6 comp rule.

Possibly the caves won't be to covered with snow?

We could have a few snow run comps, mold a course from deep snow and spray it with a water bottle to harden or ice it up.

Currently though the scalers are the only trucks I have running.

If it's going to be like the past two years we will only get one big snow storm. Then the rest of the year will just be bone chiling cold.

The caves sound like the best for questionable weather crawling. It should be more regulated in there.

Places to hold comps:
Devil's
Mcbride
Coralville
Caves
any others?

I don't have a comp truck built yet either. I think we just need to start doing it regardless. I don't want to be rushed in April/May having a comp every weekend.

They haven't set a 07 date yet for nationals.

Yeah I was thinking it was going to be season end. You know a championship, I guess it could be the winter season end.

Ya I'm going no matter what too. It's just I would like to have as much practice with the one rig I would compete with as possable. You know what I mean? I don't want to get selected 2 weeks before and only been crawling with my scale truck.

Yeah, I hear ya there.
As far as I'm concerned, it's not the tricks you have on your truck, but the tricks you can do with it that counts most. I noticed Bender running courses again Sun when everything was finisihed. I'd say wheel time with the truck is most important. That and running as close as possible to the USRCCA rules.

Exactly, even if I don't compete I'm coming. I figured I'd make a week out of it and crawl the western terrain.

Trying to put $50 or more away per week to save. I figure it costing in the $1000+ range by the time you add fuel, food, and hotels.

Anyways

Any problems with running this time frame?
Event #1 Sunday 12/10/06 Location-Caves

You guys are right getting out and driving is what we need to do to prepare. Knowing the limits (Roll points and so forth) is the most important detail of driving our trucks. I need to start messing around with tuning (wheel weights and so forth)

If the weather craps out on us maybe we can come up with something that will work. Bigger tires, setup a man made course or something else.

I've got the decals ordered.

if any one has a decent sized indoor space im trying to construct a man made crawler course using foam insulation stacked, glued, and then cut to shape and to be covered in bedliner. been kinda draggin my feet though cause im lackin the room to make it good sized but if someone has the room for it i'll finish it up and maybe make it in sections for easy transport. and im pretty well good for all those dates.

The dates look fine.
I just need to build a comp truck. Does anyone know if they sell carbon fiber shock bodies.
Building a 1:1 crawler and trailer is severly eating into my nationals money. I either need to spend less or decide it's not comeing along this time.
I just blew over $400 on a new gun amo and a conversion kit for the gun.
I have the naked ladies stickers:?

No Carbon fiber shocks that I know of. Maybe some Tamiya friction shocks would work. No oil is lighter.
