11:00 am Brushlessnut said he is coming too. I'm picking up a topper for the rusty ford so I decided to make a day of it. |

Not going to make it, just to far for me to drive by myself. Cost me over $90 in fuel last time. Will be checking out this place though. http://www.wheatontroop374.org/hike.htm |

I spent $70.00 in gas to get from Omaha to Des Moines and back in my truck. I think I had the shortest out of town drive to make.

I just got home from the eye doctors, I guess I burnt my eyes a lot more then I thought last Sunday. The doc wants me inside, in a dark place until at least Monday. I will see if the head aches are gone in the morning, if they are I am heading to Des Moines.

Well that area I went to sucked in typical Illinois fashion. Rocks are like gold here in Illinois. Driving by farms with tiny piles of stacked pebbles as decoration was proof no big rocks anywhere. The rocks were there just hit or miss and nothing but ledges. There was maybe one good climb in the park, but it was a historical marker, and with all the park officals around I didn't chance it. Drove home and went to my local bash spot about a 2.5 miles from my house. Way better rocks and had a fun time. I l'll put up a link to the pic's soon. |
