Where and When?

See how far the Maquoketa Caves are from your place. It would be cool to crawl as well as being a new place. Also bring flashlights and head lights for your rig.

I know Zachs truck works, I just have to find that pinion for the Bruiser. Yeah we can get some headlights setup might take a week though. The little Tacoma works but I don't think the terrain looks easy enough to keep up with the pack. Guess if I get the tuber done in time I could bring that.

Your link didn't work but if its within 4 hours were good to go.

Sundays are best for my brother an I as we have them off every week. Been meaning to get out again.

Sorry about the link.
It said you were 2:40min away from the caves.
I'm about 2 hours from them.

I still don't have a truck ready either. The bronco is torn down to paint and just a general rebuild. I need to buy some lights too for my trucks. The power wagon needs a tranny mount and a servo mount. I just need something to spark my interest again, so I can finish either of those.

Sundays are cool. Is the 19th to soon?

Bump for the others to see.

Sounds cool though, can't wait to check it out it's a little closer then Mcbride for me.

Is it dark like is it in a cave thats why we need flashlights or are we just going to crawl till it gets dark. I guess I should pickup those wierd headlamp things.

Bruiser works again, I just took a standard pinion and bored it out.

I'll bring the crappy camera again, maybe we can get a better video this time.

Some is cave crawling.
ALL the crawling is in a 75' deep hole with 75' trees on top of that. It stays dark in there most of the day since the sun is so low in the sky.
My head lights are coming around. Might even have working brake lights too.

Here is that led light bar. I'm thinking of a police bronco with red and blue light bar, ot white lights down the sides for rock lights. They work great on a 9v battery too.

How do you get your brake lights to work with the reverse throttle? A servo on y harness with throttle maybe? Im making some lights for my scale rig and am bouncing some ideas around that will work with my brushless controllers.

Where is this cave? If it isnt too many hours of driving, I would like to hang out again. That is, if I am back from GA in time.

Yep A micro servo and a momentary switch.
The place is up by Maquoketa, IA It would be a VERY long drive for you, but you are allways welcome back. You can share the couch with my dog June. If you need to crash.

Light bar would look cool, paint it like a ranger truck. Those lights look like they would flood a big area with light.

When I went to Pikes Peak there was a badass lifted ranger bronco. Lots to choose from. I like the traditional forest ranger Bronco's.

I'm going to do a rescue style truck.
Stripped and painted the frame today. It's a lot deeper rich red than in the pic my camera has been through a lot.

Thats going to be very bright, might be a little hard to focus on while driving. My setup will not be very bright but the lights will have a runtime of 24 hours.

Zach picked up 4 keychain LED lights, instant foglights.

Got it wired up. Really, really, really, bright, the kit definity surpassed my expectations. When driving at night the light gets thrown about 20 feet out.

Camera hates funky lighting

Chugs along great now with that new pinion, really makes it smooth.
