Indoor coarse is looking sick. Next week I'm gonna crawl it and finally get to test out my creation!

headed up to beloit to see my parents today, there is a massive pile of limestone behind their house that i played on as a kid, going to see how my rs does on it.

yeah that not work so well. the holes in the pile are just big enough for the wheels to fall into and bind. where i could get good traction, it went great. very happy with the truck, just need a more natural place to wheel.

search a few threads pertaining to shock limiting... this is one of those situations where less is more, meaning take some travel out of the shocks so when its articulating it only covers 50 or 60 degrees or rotation, instead of about 90 degrees, which 90 degrees looks cool, but allows your tire to fall into a hole instead of hanging in the air long enough to grab the next rock... here is an example of some axial XR-10 shocks that i did. the fronts are internally limited with a 3/8" spacer under the piston and externally limited with a 1/4" spacer. and the rears are only limited externally with a 3/8" spacer... i picked up a variety of aluminum and derlin spacers at ace hardware, so i just tried a few different combinations till i found what i liked...

and this is the travel i get after limiting, not nearly as much, but performs 100% better!!!

kinda makes me wish I would've held onto a 2.2 rig...

My scaler's almost ready, and once it is, we'll have to have a g2g or something...

i was considering the limiting issue while i was out there, have been playing with that some, but took them out once i got my links in the right place. currently it does about 80 degrees, but while i was watching it, i was looking at all the possible solutions, and really in this case i think the pile was just too inconsistent. with that said, my scale driving skills still are not the best.the areas where the stones where smaller and laid together better, the crawling was great.

My 1.9 scaler is almost driveable (just waiting on battery connecters). I can't wait to get back on the rocks! We'll have to have a scale g2g or something there in Salina!

was bored today, so we set up a 10 gate practice course, at one of our favorite (only) locations with some decent rocks to play on...

and tried some other lines as well...

and finally got a berg to try out... see how it compares to the XR-10's...
