Hey guys. I'm from Hoyt (15 minutes north of Topeka), and I'm looking into crawling. Looking to crawl for fun - not necessarily comps. Looking towards an XR-10 or a super class crawler. Love the size of the supers, but I don't know that there is enough challenging terrain here in KS for a super class crawler. Thoughts on this? Also, I see the closest actual club is in the KC area - correct? Too bad there isn't a local one. With a family of 5 and other hobbies, I just don't have the time to trek to KC to attend an established club. Once I decide on which crawler to dive into, I'll have to get with some locals guys to have someone to crawl with. |

I would vote no, that there isn't (big) enough terrain for a super... but I'm basing that vote on my experiences from Coronado Heights, and pictures I've seen online. It may be an entirely different ball game up that direction. I'm in McPherson, which is about an hour and a half (south) of Topeka, and the closest established club I can find is the KC guys. I hear there's some pretty awesome competition up that way though. I wish ya the best of luck, and welcome to the addiction! ![]() |

XR10 kits had a price drop from axial. They are pretty affordable now but because they need 2 motors, and more electronics they can still be a bit pricey after the kit is complete. I have a leftover RS10 that is about 90% complete. I scavenged some links from it for a project and would be willing to let the rest go for cheap if you are interested. |

Nice snelson. I haven't been able to drive one yet. The weather is supposed to be in the 50s next week. Some of us should get together.
