My biggest issue with horse thief is that the rocky trail worthy areas are few and far between, with a lot of trudging thru deep sand to get to each area that would present a fun and challenging trail ride? if kanopolis lake sounds like a good GTG place, i vote for Venango beach? theres no fee to use the area for the day, so we wouldnt have to buy vehicle passes unless someone plans on camping over night? and the beach area is littered with every kind of terrain we could ask for? i've been over there several times with my scalers, and i can say for sure that venango beach is funner than horse thief canyon.... im lazy, im not all about walking a mile in deep sand to trail in a couple 50 sq/ft areas...  |

i might be up for something Sunday, not sure what time yet, my parents are supposed to be down this way that day. thought i might get dad to go along now that he has a rig.

Headed out to Kanopolis to scout the area. be there till 5 or 6ish if anyone wants to join us... ill snap a few pics of different areas to get some feedback... VENANGO BEACH... no need for a vehicle permit unless your camping overnight... |
