DEAD TRUCK RESCUE RELAY

Randomly drawn teams in a head to head truck rescue relay. Should be fun.

More details to follow.

I want more details on the dead truck rescue. Sounds fun and have no clue what it is lol.. I got a 1.9 rig on the way. I bought it just because of this part of the event. Looking foward to it.

Yeah i like the rescue idea, need to get my winch mounted, now that i can control it. I do have my wireless controllers i built and no longer need, they are full size key FOB controlled wireless controllers if anyone wants one. they are kinda bulky though, 4X4X4 inch. one is built and the other just needs wired.

As I hone in on the details I will post em up. Its just an idea I had come up with in an effort to be different and have FUN. It should be exciting.

lol yeah, that's my only one LOL. i need to get that back, i think i want to do the bumper and winch mount different. I think i am going to cut the grill out and mount the winch to the frame, then make the bumper part of the tilt hood. this will give me the look and function i want.

I may want one! How does the winch get it's power? It's not through the RX is it? A Seperate battery? My winch no longer has any connectors (for the motor) would it still work? Feel free to PM me Money is hella tight for me right now (and I'm being stingy), and I'm not too excited about spending the money for a 3CH radio... (plus, I kinda like my 2ch)

I can't wait. Now that my winch is mounted my truck should be a decent competitor (in this event at least)

It's not pretty, but my winch is mounted. I just wish the stock radio box for the SCX10 was a hair bigger...

You'll love that controller. It makes everything so easy and smooth Shewt, I'd be willing to bet that all of HeyOK's products are great!

I was also curious why the Wraiths are with the comp rigs. I think the Wraiths should be in the 2.2 class. Moa is way more capable then a Wraith. Just curious. Look forward to the event either way.

Wraiths have no frame. Its not the same as a SCX10 or TF with 2.2 its 2 different worlds when it comes to ability. Hell we ran against comp rigs with scale trucks at Salina for money!
I am heading in the scale truck direction for this event. Something you see on the trails and on the street at the stop light.
Thats why I am allowing ONLY scale truck entries into the Recovery Relay. I am not trying to piss anyone off its just what I have in mind for this annual event as far as direction. I hope this helps.

So no 2.2 rigs for recovery? I have a scx10 on wraith axles.

Brian - correct me if i am wrong here, but i think it would be best to view this as a privet event we are being invited to and not a MKRCC sponsored event. This would mean that due holders would not get a entry fee break nor would any point be counted towards season points (if we are doing that........are we doing that??). I have no problem with events like this and I understand the draw for scale only rigs. However "Scale" maybe the wrong term as many consider the Wraith to be a scale tuber, I mean heck there is a real one ;). Maybe something along the lines of "Traditional Production Scaler" or "Traditional Street Scaler"??? I hate to say "ladder frame" as there are many 1:1 production rigs that are uni-body.........This hobby can be so detailed lol.

This is all I am saying.

Framed truck is something that is still streetable but jumps off road and trails, crawls whatever.

Dowwolfs Bronco is a perfect example 2.2 BUT it is on a FRAME.

Wraiths are not on a FRAME.

Did anyone forget I didnt charge an entry fee?

I could make it easy on myself and adapt another set of written rules. Which in turn seperates by streetable and Comp builds in similar wording.

I stated about fees as more of general club view on events such as this. I look at this way: we have Club sponsored comp events, we have club sponsored social crawls (no rules or points) and then there are the privet hosted comps (such as this). you make the rules for your event as you see fit to get the trucks you want to run against. Where with the club we have both a broader range of rigs and probably tighter rules (depending on how you look at it) that we have to work with. If you want to say ladder framed rigs only, that is your call and I don't feel like we in the club should have any say over it (My comments where really meant to be more constructive). I agree that this may push a few members out of this event, but this is not a club event. On the flip side, you have opened up a 3rd class that allows for comps and wraiths to join in and from how I read it, the only event they cannot compete in is the rescue relay. of course, and this is just a suggestion, we could use the comp rigs as the "dead vehicles" which I feel would be realistic. But that is just an idea and could be something we adopt into the club sponsored events. of all my rigs currently under construction, the Bronco would be the only one that would be able to compete in aspects of this event. Personally that is why I built a scaler first and now have two tubers in the works. I guess my feeling is that we as members "should" have one of each ( what better excuse for more toys do you need??), that is not to say you are in anyways required to have one of each. we all run what we run.
