Update 4-22-13

Rescue relay

No wheel based classes

No wheel base restriction

No chassis restriction

MUST HAVE A WINCH OR TOW ROPE

Teams will be drawn at random and the number to participating drivers

will dictate the number of teams

4 Trucks

3 Stages

1 Recovery zone

1 Finish line

Team members will have to work together to choose the roles

of each truck:
  • One truck will be designated as the "dead truck"

and will be placed on it's roof in the "dead truck zone"
  • First puller and second puller positioned at stage 1
  • Third puller will be positioned at stage 2

At the start of the race each teams "first puller" will race from "Stage 1"

to the the "dead truck zone" where they will use a winch or tow rope

to recover the "Dead truck" back to it's wheels (upright). The

"First puller" will then drag the "Dead Truck" back to "Stage 1".

The "Second puller" is allowed to assist the "First puller" with moving of

the "Dead truck" only, not recovery, and only by pushing from behind the

"Dead truck".

The "Second puller" must remain in the "Stage 1" box until the "Dead truck"

is recovered and pulling has started.

At "Stage 1" the "Second puller" will take over and pull the "Dead truck"

to "Stage 2".

The "Third puller" may move and help push the "Dead truck" to the

"Stage 2" zone, but only after the "Dead truck" has left the "Stage 1" zone.

At "Stage 2" the "Third puller" will take over and pull the "Dead truck"

to "Stage 3".

The "First puller" may assist to "Stage 3" by pushing but only after the

"Dead truck" has left the "Stage 2" zone.

At "Stage 3" the "Dead truck" and the "Third puller" will change positions and

the "Dead truck" will pull the "Third puller" to the finish line.

The "Second Puller" may assist to the "Finish line" by pushing but only

after the "Third puller" has left the "Stage 3" zone.

How does that sound? for those who missed out at Raymond, this is a really fun race!

Bring chairs, ez-ups, drinks, food, grills, coolers, tools and spare parts.

Don't forget this is Cinco de Mayo, so drink and be merry, but do so responsibly.

My yard is available for Camping, there is also camping at the city park south of the river with bathroom facilities.

There is no camping allowed on Coronado.

is everyone good with the 9AM start time? is that too early??? I was thinking that would allow folks from out of the region time to drive home Sunday evening.

Also, details have been added, let me know what you think.

Re: 2nd Annual Crawl of the fortress - May 5th

so as we are still not very organized as a club I don't think there will be a entry fee nor any prizes. lets just drink and have fun :D

VOID - we will still tally the scores and use this as a practice event ;)

Re: 2nd Annual Crawl of the fortress - May 5th

After all the fun we had at Raymond i have reconsidered this whole "Comp" topic. I really just want this event to be social and i think many in the club would agree with that. I am going to officially forgo all previous plans of any kind of comp and just say Come, drink, crawl, and have fun. I am going to pull in the Rescue relay that Geno has created, but mostly for the social interaction.
