Johnson County Anyone know of places to crawl in Olathe area ? |
Re: Johnson County I think there are some spots NE. Have you joined the RC Scalers of Kansas group on Facebook? Some folks on there will know. What did you expect? I'm a newbie! |
Re: Johnson County thanks I'll give it a try |
Re: Johnson County Me and my brother and my gf go to Hillsdale lake to play around. Good areas out there on the horse trails. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |
Re: Johnson County I concur. Also look up the swope mountain bike trails. There is also a few places along the blue river I believe. Never been there though. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |

Re: Johnson County thanks for the information.. That will be a bit too far this weekend for me but I will definitely want to check out that lake and area. |
Re: Johnson County Sad news. We had so much rain the lake is up. Some areas are flooded. Others have had so much water they are swampy. The social crawl has been moved to Coronado Heights in Lindsborg, KS. It's a great place to crawl, but we were all looking forward to the new location. All planned activities will still happen. It will just be at the alternate location. It should be about the same drive. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk |
Re: Johnson County I'm still working on getting my first RC crawler, that being said... I live in Olathe and thinking of areas to crawl... Ernie Miller park has awesome trails that would totally lend themselves to RC crawling! So does Shawnee Mission park, i doubt that many people think about crawling these hiking trails, but there are some super awesome technical areas, even with shallow water! Once I get a crawler those are two of the first places I'm heading, other than my back yard... which is way boring... but you gotta run where you can! ATBNDO! |
Re: Johnson County Pretty good news here. We have reached an agreement with Harvey County and are now in the process of building a full-use RC Park at Harvey County Parks East. Google maps search "Harvey County RC Park Newton KS" and it should bring it up on the map. We are having a "grand opening" on the weekend of April 26 & 27 with a social crawl, fun fly, swap meet, and food truck. There will be 2 raffles: 1 for airplane and 1 for crawler. Hope to see everyone there! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...58bfe98e59.jpg Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |
Re: Johnson County Also, as far as I know all the Kansas group have migrated to Facebook. Easier to schedule events and the format fits the hobby better. |

Re: Johnson County Im also from Olathe and Ernie Miller is a pretty decent spot for trailing. |
Re: Johnson County Relatively new to the crawling scene but my daughters and I just drove the South Shore Trail East Loop at Shawnee Mission park and it was a blast. Played in the creek a bit, found plenty of rocks to climb and there is enough variation in the trail to make it fun. |
