LC Hosts: Falls of The Ohio Comp 1.0 - 2 June 2019

https://www.facebook.com/events/347753295872937/

Greetings everyone! Below is a list of the classes, rules, and a general breakdown of our comp. Drivers will have seven minutes to navigate each course. Courses will consist of 10 gates. Upon completion of a course the judge will record the time and assess, if any, time penalties. At the end of the day the times from the three courses and all penalties will be calculated, bonus gate time deducted, and the drivers will be ranked 1st through last.

There will be a $5 entry fee.

There will be plaques for 1st - 3rd in each class. Additionally, we are building a static display.
________________________________________
We are running a two class comp.

Class 2 is 4.75” and below

Class 3 is 4.76” through 5.80”

Tire measurements will go off the manufactures PRINTED text on the sidewall. If the tire does not have a printed size on the sidewall then we will measure the tire. Rim size is irrelevant. Pin style tires are not allowed in either class.

No 2.2 Comp style rigs I.E., motor on axle, “sporty,” or other type vehicles.

Additionally, dig units or rear steering is only allowed in Class 3.

Locking differentials and multispeed gear boxes are allowed in either class.

Gate width will be at least 14”, setup your vehicles accordingly.

Grading – This is our first “official” comp style event. For the sake of keeping things simple below is how drivers will be graded.

[+10 seconds] Vehicle touch/Hand of God (HOG). Doing so whether stuck, permanently flipped, or off the course. This does not including setting up an electronic winch. Drivers will reposition their
rear tires at the last completed gate.

[+10 seconds] Gate Marker. Gates are not meant to be touched. If you move, knock over, or otherwise touch a gate then a penalty will be assessed. Blatantly or deliberating plowing through gates could earn a disqualification for that course. You may not pass through previously completed gates for any reason.

[+10 seconds] Boundary Marker. Boundary markers are sometimes needed to funnel vehicles through certain obstacles. These markers, like gates, may not be bypassed. Crossing or touching boundary markers will earn a time penalty.

[No penalty] Winching. Drivers are free to use their electronic winches. However, winches must be secured to a natural object already on the course. No shoes, moving a rock, or other unnatural winch points are allowed.

[No penalty] Reverse. For the sake of simplicity there will be no reverse penalties assessed.

[-30 seconds] Bonus Gates. After all three courses are done there will be (# to be determined) bonus gates. Drivers will have 30 seconds to complete each bonus gate. If a vehicle requires a HOG or winch the attempt will end.

Did not finish (DNF)/Did not start (DNS). High time on course +10 seconds.

Disqualified (DQ). High time on course +30 seconds in addition to any penalties assessed prior to disqualification.

Breakdowns – if your vehicle breaks on the course you are only allowed to make minor repairs to the vehicle with tools/items readily available. I.E., quick fix using electrical tape or a zip tie. If a vehicle breaks but is still operable the driver may continue. Any major repairs that require the vehicle to be removed from the course will receive a DNF. Upon completion of any repairs drivers will reposition their rear tires at the last completed gate.
________________________________________
Team event – At the end of the competition we will have a team event. Drivers will be paired together to complete a 10 gate course. The rules are the same. However, the course will be slightly more challenging and drivers are encouraged to work together. Drivers will be paired together as follows. Say we have 30 drivers in the 1.9 class. Then the 1st place driver will be paired with the 30th placed driver, the 2nd place will be with the 29th, and so on. This will be time dependent and on a volunteer basis.
________________________________________
The idea behind this competition is to be fun and challenging while maintaining simple rules. Drivers are expected to be respectful of one another. Judges are humans and volunteers. Arguing with a judge could result in a driver being eliminated from the standings. We are putting this together with our own time for the Louisville Crawlers and surrounding groups to have fun.

Any questions regarding the above information can be directed towards any of the Louisville Crawlers page admins.

The date is closing in! This is NOT the same weekend as KNK TTC. Their event is the following weekend.

Thinking about getting back into the crawlers. Are there any clubs in Louisville? Or close?

Oh yes. I'm one of the admins for "Louisville Crawlers" on Facebook. We have people crawling at Falls of The Ohio probably 2-3 times per week. We just did our group visit to Red River Gorge a few weeks ago.

Very active in the Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green Area.
