Default drivetrain/wheels binding up

finishing up my twin crawler and now running into a few problems. Setup:

twin axles, goat brushless system, pede tranny, revo shafts, axial 40 beadlocks.

I am sure its the actual wheel setup that is causing the binding...but why? With the wheels off there is no/less load on the axles. I put on the 17mm hex's that the beadlocks come with, bolted up the wheels and now the drivetrain is locked up. I don't see anything binding/rubbing?

I've always run 17mm buggy hexes, moocho bettero. I've NEVER had a binding issue with mine. It's always been smooth as a whistle.

Got a picture?

Try placing a shim or two behind the 17mm hex.
No way of telling without photos or a hands on look but it sounds like something is rubbing the knuckle. It could be the hex or the wheel.

If your adapters don't have a lip on the bearing side it may be rubbing on the outer race of the bearing. The adapters should only contact the inner race of the bearing. Is the pin hole in the adapter tight also? If it's loose it may be causing the bind.

im gonna try a few shims. I can see that the plastic hex is rubbing on the bearing. I had to drill out the hexes to a larger diameter for them to fit on the twin stubs so the lip on the backside is now gone.

raptorman, where did you pick up those buggy hexes at?

thanks

If the lip is gone that is what is causing the rubbing. It's dragging on the outer race of your bearing. Any 8mm buggy adapters will work. I have some listed here.

These are what I am running, and Raptorman runs Kyosho to the Core.

Mine are Kyosho hexes, like Bart Benders stated. My LHS stocks allot of Kyosho stuff so it's quite handy. Theres a few flavors to choose from here though....17 mm adapter .

Was it the lip towards the bearing that fixed the problem or can you tell? Just curious.
