Default HS gears are mandatory ? venom 18.5T brushless

just bought myself a Kyosho Rock Force, already have an Venom Creeper with Tekin FX-R and 55t tekin brushed motor ,the rest is stock , in my country there are no crawling comps , so I use it only for fun on the rocks, and I have a Venom 120A esc and venom 540 18.5t 2200kv combo laying around and I want to install it in the Kyosho .
I only have 3s Lipos , so , my questions are :
is this a good motor/esc choice for the RF ?
with this combo and 3s do I have to buy the HS gears or stock will be fine ?

stock gears are fine i wouldn't waste the money on them if any thing if your looking to make up some speed buy a smaller aluminum spur gear and a new big pinion would be a cheaper option

Thanks for the input, the original plan was that, making a higher ratio on motor pinion spur, but I've read that this causes some heating problems on the axle ...

just grease them and your good worm gears are suppose to be greased frequently anyway and i ran mine brush less for a wile and the rpms didn't seems to cause any heat problems

Is the Venom system sensered? if not,its going to COG at low speeds.
I tryed senserless in my RF, fast but just coged real bad under load , or going slow.

Thats ok then,i tryed unsensered,but only to try it.

What i run is;
3s
FXR
handwound 35t
High speed wormgears;
Not overly fast,but torque to snap axle shafts,

almost the same set up I run on the creeper , but I use the 55T motor , but for the RF I want it to be more rock racer then rock crawler ...
so just with bigger pinion and smaller spur I'll be fine ?? no need for HS gears ??

Id try it with just changing the spur and pinion first for sure,pinions are cheap,cheaper than FS gears.
Mine was FAST with 4000KV on 2s when i tryed it,i mean stupid fast,,it wheelyed,.
If i were to go brushless,it would be around 2200/3000 KV,but only 2s,so if you;re going to run 3s,yeah i can see rock racing speed.

mine was a 21.5 Novak sensored with gtb esc 6cell stick packs i forget my pinion/spur the wheel speed wasn't there but you cant really expect good wheel speed from work gears.

I would say HS are easiest to go... still running with 2s n 27t motor HS ..good enough for crawling and had it for 5years already... I love this guy because it seems like a bulletproof rig.
