Default Green Tuber

Some shots of my attempts to build a scale RF

1st Gen: soldered brass->

the brass setup, though is very light, was way too weak

2nd Gen: brazed mild steel rods and brake line->
Brazing 90% done in this photo. Notice the provisions to mount the steering servo on the frame as opposed to the axle(trying to keep the axle scale looking... if thats possible with the RF). The link geometry is .25 wider and .5 inch longer. The "gearbox" will be mounted vertical, motor above the spur.

All cleaned up and rattle canned for now. Maybe the 3rd gen of my build will be powdercoated but Im still learning so the spray paint will be easier to remove incase mods need to be done.

More pics to come soon. I will be adding all the body paneling and eventually interior and driver.

nice work on the frame and all but not to bash IMO it looks like crap style/ shape wise (the square styling of the windshield ie. not angled just straight up, cab sits too far back, and the front grille is angled back looks stupid) but i do like what you did with the panels

I see what you mean about the windshield... Ive just always been a big fan of the Tamiya WW and how static/fun it looks

I got some cell phone holders but I'm thinking they look really small in this rig. So I haven't mounted them till I decide to keep them

finally getting to the interior...

i decided to go with a stock looking seat rather than a racing seat.

i added some body filler to side of the seat to give it some more form.

next to the seat is the tub for the interior. the tranny tunnel is kind of big because it has to clear the motor.

this is how it look all "together"
