| Warhead CVD's?
Anyone try these yet? http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...5&I=LXMKV9&P=K http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=DTXC7284&P=K The Warhead exploded view shows 8x16 bearings at the wheel axles and also at the center output (I think). Towers listing shows "8mm ball" on the DTXC4534. Should work, no? Normally I would not recommend Duratrax parts to anyone. But so far I have found no other CVD shafts this short. |

Max Throw (without grinding) The CVD dogbone drive ball fits perfectly in the TF diff cups. Pins are nice and snug in the slot. Very minimal play I am not thrilled with the DTXC7275 Outer Axle length. I may look around for a shorter alternative. I wonder if the HPI outer CVD axle would bolt up to the Duratrax Bone? Now I need to go find that thread about narrowning tubes THAT far... |

Looks like an option. Not sure if it's a good one though. You could redrill it and cut it down I suppose. Could use them for a drive shaft too. The throw isn't anything to brag about. Maybe do some grinding inside the cup?

like most things twin, it will take some effort to make it work. but i think most of us who use the axles enjoy the building as much as driving. this could def. work with a new hole in the outta wheel part to get the wheel closer to the hub, as bart said. |

I just noticed that the Duratrax CVD's are bass ackwards from HPI. HPI units have the CVD cup on the outer axle. Which limits my options. Going to order up the DTXC7284 (post #1) next pay check. They have the male wheel nut stub. If that don't work for outer axles then machine work time... which I was trying to avoid in the first place. |
