That looks really sweet, way to think outside the box! What is your width from outside edge of tire to outside edge of tire? Also, I don't know how those axles are setup, but you could gain even better turning radius with a little more caster.

thanks, outside to outside is 10 1/2.

unfortunately the caster is set. i thought i rolled the C's back enough but you can see they are not. the only thing i think i can do know is shorten the upper links or lengthen the bottom's.

so you caster is set with glue? if so then that sucks, if not what is stopping you from unscrewing the chubs and turning them back and screwing them in place again?

just the short side is glued. will have to look around and see if i have anymore machined down hub carriers from super shafty.

if not i may have to ask Rick VERY nicely if he can get me a couple more.

hey if you ask i will ask too i could use a couple more to keep in a box.

one problem i always run into when running these axles is, wheel nuts.
almost every wheel i have run on them cant fit a 6mm nut.

what i do and has worked good for me so far. i take a flanged 5mm nut, drill and tap it to 6mm.

to fit in the VP hub i also had to file a little off the flange.

so i took Rick's idea and took out the bottom screws in the housing. the only problem is if i where to just shave it down until it was flat, it would be paper thin. so i took my soldering gun and melted the ribs flat, filling the screw holes. then sanded it smooth.

i will leave the gussets alone for know. but i will most likely have to shave them off too.

reworked the link/shock mounts to get a little better clearance. just need to do the fronts know.








went back to the narrowed ax10 wheels. gutted them and got some Hulksta CF front plates so i can run VP hubs.

a little rework on this thing.



changed the upper links in the rear.

shaved the housing so the shark fins sit tight to it.






the links are just aluminum. thinking on a good fall they wont last with those kind of bends. will have to save up and find someone to make them out of TI for me.




the last thing i wont to do is widen the front axle. so i can run a smaller hub which will bring my wheel in. i am running a vp 850, after widening i should be able to run a 600.





if anyone is interested i run this pinion in the rear. sorry i dont remember the part number or who makes it. but i can tell you i got it from amainhobbies. will try to find it again and post back.

Associated uses a different bolt pattern and won't work. I race Mugen but have not had the chance to try a gear set yet. I've read they won't work, but I just need to see for myself

I wonder If you just rotate the locker drill and tap new holes, If it will work.

Will have to get them and see if the pinions will atleast work.
