Default Forced Wraith

Got a couple boxes of parts from Eddie at Crawler Innovations here is the result.

Wraith chassis
Aluminum front mad force axle, centered
HPI CVDs
Egressor Knuckles
Underdrive/over drive gears with AL spools (not sure of maker). 10 tooth axle pinion gear up front and 13 tooth axle pinion gear out back. Both have 43tooth ring gears.
Fully built axial transmission with Crawler Innovations outputs, metal gears and BWD motor plate.
Etc, etc

First up setup the rear plastic axle for steering. Couple Supershafty parts for the axle mount. Homemade servo plate.

One modded universal on left, CVDs on right.

Rear axle tore down and rebuilt. Rear panel will need trimmed.

Default Forced Wraith

Cleaned up and painted front axle and new servo/4 link mount.

Picture of the rear axle housing showing that the correct shims are a must on the axle pinion .
Ready for the chassis.

Always liked the look of these axles - Reminds me of the big boy unimog axles.

The front axle is a big boy. 1lbs 6oz as shown with shocks. I can't remember who made this cast axle hosing but it's solid. The rear axle is the stock plastic housing. They both have their pros and cons.

More work.

4" shocks up front 5" shocks out back. Will need a little more longer shocks.

Thanks. The pictures don't show it but I have quite a bit of work done on this rig. A lot of little custom stuff to make everything work.
This rig will be a fun bashing trail rig. I am pretty much done with it and there are some minor things left to do.
Possible wheels.

Possible wheels and tires.

I bought these wheels/tires from someone else but Eddie now owns them. Lol.
He'll be bashing on it for sure. That front axle housing just may be Eddie-Bashing-proof. Im sure 4s will be used.

These axles are solid. rear gears are underdrive and fronts are over drive. The ring gears are both 43t but the front pinion is 9t and the rear is 10 (i think), i cant remember the tooth count.

Now that you say that, I think Eddie said it was a New Era.

Eddie sent me a ton of HPI parts that work for these axles. Gears, CVDs, Universals, etc.

I have another planned build with some force axles. One of a kind old school German torsion chassis.

can't wait to see what that is!

i dont have a stock twin force anywhere. closest is the BYB, but even that is heavily modded. to me a twin force axle does its best in custom builds. i love all the sets i have.

Awesome work as usual Shane! None of these projects would be coming to fruition with out. Thank you. You are gaining a wealth of axle knowledge from several different manufactures, both large & small, as well as time periods. You are building an extensive and impressive list of rigs built by you on your resume

It may not look like it from the pictures but this was definitley a challenging build. Can't wait to see it flying across your yard on 4S power.
