Now I just have to sort out how to do an upper link mount. The freestyle RC parts I have now wont work with the aluminum housing. I can sort something out though.

I made my own. I used a step bit to make the holes needed. What size do you need?

I have a concept for a truss to integrate servo mount in mind, will post more about it later.

I'll post more info once I get a bit further on drawings and make some. It's an item that would work with standard kyosho axles too so I am thinking I may get a vendor star and sell them if there is a market.

FYI, for anyone ordering, they are coming from Hong Kong via DHL, so shipping will be a bit longer than normal.

I don't think the Aluminum will catch on for this axle. It doesn't add any performance. The stock axles will slide overs rock and the aluminum will hang up. And they add weight. Now add the added cost and well you see my point. If it was a weak axle to start with like most then the market would have that need. It's just a bling piece. And that would be the only market that you would cater to.

Im using them on a vehicle that will likely weigh 25-30 lbs when I am done with it and they will be super wide (close to 15" hex to hex). The aluminum also allows me to make the axles that wide easily with just some spacer tubes from aluminum as well. I can also powdercoat them like i want to. Just my 2 cents.

I could see the advantage of them being aluminum with that being the case. The nice thing will be the axle shafts will not need cutting and welding. I played with that idea while putting parts together. It should be a lot of fun to build and to watch.

i have broken a lot of the plastic housing. the housing really needs a truss to make them a viable no breakable plastic piece. high speed and low speed big falls i have snapped these things.

Housings are in, spacers made. These will use (2) 135mm long inner shafts from a Losi XXXL.

That is very nice. Are you milling rear lock outs? The axial rear shafts should work nicely.

With the aluminum tubes stuffed inside my stock axles I hope I never have the need for the extra cost that these require. I am building a carbon fiber truss in the back for other reasons. I will have it done soon.
