Picked up the Mad Force yesterday. It was the old one, kit 31255 or something like that. It was hardly used and it came with the dual shock kit, unused! Even if I can't salvage my swollen o-ring shocks, I've now got 8 mint condition ones! Great! Will keep this vehicle stock for now and just bash with it until I run out of gas, got 4 litres left...😊

Here's a quick tip on those diff gears, you may already know this, but lots of people don't: They are the same from the Inferno 7.5, 777, ST, ST-R, ST-RR, ST-RR Evo 1 and 2, and several of their Ready Set vehicles. I've used these with great success: Kyosho 1/8 Inferno ST-RR Evo.2 Truggy * FRONT/REAR DIFFERENTIAL & 43T RING GEAR | eBay I have found that the ring gears that are helical cut are weaker. That or they don't like reverse because I have never had a set of straight cut gears wear out on me. Also, when shimming the gears I will usually shim them until they are tight enough to not "free spin" and then remove a small shim once I get there. That leaves a good mesh on the helicals which are harder to shim in my opinion. |

I read an article regarding helical gears vs straight cut gears. Helical gears provide a bigger surface area per tooth and should thus be stronger than straight cut gears. The article also stated that helical cut gears needs a more sturdy gearbox design as they provide a larger load than straight cut gears. Will post a link to the article later. All my rc gear is packed away for the moment as other things in life took presedence all of a sudden...
