Hey peeps. I am in the market for my 1st crawler. I have posted a few questions on here, but most of what I needed to know has been talked about many times. TONS of info on this site and I have to say it's the best Crawler site I have seen. I thought all was well and my mind was made up, until I got a precious email with a link to check out the new Kyosho crawler, the Rock force 2.2. It's in prototype stage but I was wondering if anyone has heard more about it. This is where I saw it: http://rccaraction.com It has some kicking features, but who knows about the quality. They do explain quite a bit about it on there, which is nice.

Not to bash on them, but from what I've heard Kyosho doesn't have very good parts support in the U.S. and has a bad habit of discontinuing models after a relatively short time making it extremely difficult to get spare parts down the road. These are the comments I've heard, over and over about them. I have seen the new crawler and it does look promising. I would be hesitant to run out and buy one though, due to the issues I've mentioned. Maybe that will change for the better...who knows. A "my two cents" post. Take it for what it's worth. T.D.

That has always been a problem with Kyosho, TD. So good point. Back in the old school days when they came out with their nitro buggies, you could not even get parts for the engines in the U.S. You had to go through Canadian suppliers for the longest time. Not saying that would happen in this day and age, but good point you have. I would hope with the popularity of the hobby, they'd think ahead.

I'm not sure what their "issue" is with parts support, especially with the internet nowdays. Before the 'net, people always suggested buying an rc based on what the local hobbyshop stocked parts for. Someone in their sales and marketing department needs a swift kick! Get in the game, Kyosho! Maybe they should offer me a distributorship? :-P T.D.

And the other thing that kills me is that this is a company that has literally dozens of WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in about every R/C class there is. From planes to cars to trucks. Electric and Nitro. It is alot easier now, but even when they were winning championships with Turbo Ultimas. They were the highest selling RC cars in the world back then and you had a hard time walking into a hobby shop to get things. But you are right TD, the internet should solve a ton of ills for them. Things are going to break, and if they want to sell any of these things they are going to have to make parts available, or people with find parts from other sources. That's alot of lost $$ in replacement parts for Kyosho.

The body is sweet. From the video the chassis seems pretty tough was well. It will be interesting to see if Kyosho puts there own type of tire and rim on there.

I can vouch for a parts support issue with Kyosho. I run their RB5 2wd buggy and parts a re sometimes hard to come by. It seems like as soon as the new shipment comes in they are out of stock again. It can be frustrating. Plus Kyosho America has a $100 min order for hobbyshop's nowadays so that makes it hard to even order parts locally. Even the on line shops have trouble getting parts. Anyway, just my $.02. It would be cool to see another viable option though...

Glad I live in Japan, most parts for my buggy I can grab of the shelf of my LHS...worst case i have to wait a couple of days for it to be delivered! Sucks it doesn't seem to be the same outside of Japan!

When I race an Optima, parts were easy to find in the area (Ontario, Canada). I believe that Kyosho does not have a realtionship with Horizon or Great Planes right now, which is why it is hard for LHSs to carrytheir stuff. Hopefully Kyosho will have a well stocked on-line store with reasonable shipping rates. Plus if the truck is good people will buy two and just keep one for spares, plenty of people have a complete new Berg just sitting there in case something breaks.
