Ok here are some pics:

The metal parts in the axle are very robust, quite heavy, 1/8 scale buggy parts. I am very impressed so far.

Transmission have no gears, all reduction is in the worm gears in the axles

Those axles REALLY got me wanting one. Is there a way to reverse the input on the axle to flipp the diff to the passenger side?

that looks impressive. i wonder if it will not have torque twist b/c the driveshaft pushes/pulls on the ring gear.

Since almost all of the reduction is in the axle they will have very little tourque twist.

Kinda crazy to have dogbone axles shafts. I like the simple direct drive tranny.

The axle design practically eliminates torque twist, replacing it instead with axle wrap. Since the torsional force from the driveshaft is converted to compression/tension (forward/reverse) force by the worm gear, there should be NO torque twist whatsoever.

Now you need a two speed tranny with this type of setup.

The dogbones are the same size as Kyosho used for their Twin Force Monster truck and the same size others have used for Super Class Twin Force crawler rigs. They held up pretty good in my Super Twin force rig and I would expect in a 2.2 application that they will hold up just fine. Time will tell. These are no TLT dogbones. They are thick and beefy.

No, thats not right. Torque twist is caused by the gears resisting being turned by the driveshaft, not by the direction of gear load. They will have less torque twist because all of the reduction is inside the axle, thus making the drive shaft much easier to turn.

This is the first shafty rig I have owned that has 0 torque twist.

On carpet I can go full throttle forward to full throttle reverse and the chassis doesn't move a bit.

I really like the axles But the chassis looks way to big and heavy...Wonder if they will offer just the axles and tranny ( I guess thats what you still call it)

Axle kits will be available early 2009. The Spur gear and motor assembly plate should be in stock as a seperate item now.

The chassis has that bulky look, but the weight isn't too bad. Just two alluminum side plates and plastic chassis spacers/standoffs. The skid is alluminum.

Thanks for the reply John I know what I will build for my 09 rig now I wonder if it is geared low enough that you could put like a 9 turn or so motor in it and still crawl but have the wheel speed in reserve

It recommends a 20-27t motor, I'm going to try my Novak Goat, and I also have a nice 19t that I might try out.
