Default project: berg eater!

i got mine finished friday but had some probs. with trying to put the balls in the rod ends, with the phillips screws, and the stupid three link. other than that i love it.

also on a weird note i flipped the chassis 180* and the only thing i needed to make it work was the small steering link from an axial to space the panhard bar properly from the chassis.

i know this thread is worthless w/o pics but ill get em tomorrow.

more to come!

Do u know what caused the fried motor? I was curious about these n still have yet to actually check one out in person. I cant wait to get a chance to test run one in the future. I know as with any crawler on the market, there can be improvements. Just wondering, are U fella'z pleased over all with your Rock Force?

im guessing there are two reasons one its was kinda old, but i just cleaned it and and turned the comm, second in order for it to go any where it was full throttle the whole time.

also my dad and i are working on new 4-link mnts for the front and rear, and so is one of my buddies. so when i get that done im gonna try to put them on my slingshot.

I've heard of a few guys smoking their motor when they layed into the throttle.

Excessive gear reduction, IMO.

With so much reduction, there isn't any load on the motor with just chugging along on the flats. Permanent magnet motors are very inefficient with no load, thus they burn up from heat.

I will wait until axles are available. I would run a 35t with a 2:1 tranny and 4s lipo probably. Could even hook the 35t straight to the axles on 3s I bet.

i was tinking about that myself, or my friend and i were talking last night about finding a motor w/ a through shaft and just running driveshafts right off the motor to the axles.

i've been doing some lurking and came up with this.
im gonna order one more link so i can finish the front. then ill put all my electronics in it.
i have to thank my best friend daniel "danielk" for the 4-link mnt on the front. and for 2 screws.
once i get my link ill try it like this and see if i needa lay the motor back down, if not then ill make a new motor mnt. and skid. and my belly clearance as it sits is 3" and my w.b. is 12-3/8"
