Default My Rock Force Super Sized

Chassis... Custom
Axles...Kyosho Rock Force
Gearing.... (Optional High Speed Gears) 18T Pinion, 86T Spur Total - 71 ~ 1
Wheel Adapters....RCP Crawlers 17 mm
Wheel Base....17"
Track Width.... 13"
Belly Clearance .... 4 1/2"
Clearance under axle pumpkin... 2 7/8" with Moabs (I have some XL's on order to bring it up)
Motor.... 7t Cobalt Puller (Holmes Hobbies)
ESC....FX-R
Battery.... 2 cell 2200 Lipo (Holmes Hobbies)
Dig.....Kyosho Optional rear disconnect
Wheels....Axial Beadlock (narrowed)

Still a work in progress, but coming along. I want to try the truck with no rear steer and just front dig, to see how it performs. I also kept the the 3 link/panrod stock set up to see what torque twist is created. I have some parts on order and on the way. Should have some performance results shortly. May need to widen the track width with some longer hexes. I am also thinking of making thicker rear links to match the fronts.

The 17 mm adapters by RCP Crawlers are a nice fit for the Axial wheels. These adapters are also used for Clod Axles incorporating Thunder Tech CVD's. The large nuts on these adapters tend to come loose from the big wheels/tires even with lock tite, so I am backing them up with the stock Kyosho Rock Force hexes for added protection.

The chassis is part of my 2.2 design shown below. The 1/4" thick chassis extensions bolt to the 2.2 frame. I designed the chassis to convert for a scaller build of mine, but it appeared to set up nice for this super since I needed the extra chassis length for the panrod set up.

Little different than I had planned, but it should be a good start. I'm curious about how the 3 link will work. That puller should wizz them tires at that ratio.

Did you get the dig shifting better? I still think a dig at the tranny is a better option.

How many slots are in the dig plate john? Maybe you've posted pictures of it somewhere. It'd help to see it. Not saying dimples wouldn't work, that might be a good idea.

Hey, I remember supers...didn't they go extinct with 11" wheelbases, super low gearing and big, heavy chassis? :-P j/k (about the supers)

Looks interesting, but you definitely need to find a way to widen that bad boy!

The beauty of running Rock/Twin/Mad Force axles is they are dang near 1:8 scale buggy solid axles. Wideners for 1:8 scale buggies are available in different widths and just about anywhere you look.

He's at 13" wide. My super is at 13.250 and I feel it's to wide. But I also feel even the older, smaller Moabs are to big.

RF outputs are 6mm.

If your looking for shafts, I believe the revo's are 6mm. I could be wrong. I have a pair here, but I drilled them out for my old TF crawler build, so i don't remember what they were originally.

Can't believe I missed this. God bless you John for building a SUPER!!! Looks great. With your connections I'm surprised you don't have some fantastic new Super Tires.
