A few more. All of these new pics are with the wider axles(14" hex to hex) and my new 8 1/2" tall LST's.

I'll have to agree,I liked the Dodge body better also. I'll run the Bronco body for a bit longer anyway. I've got a couple more bodies I'm working on right now.

Yeah,I've got a little tire rubbage but thats not real important to me.

did you put the kong sidewalls on a set of lst's, and did you have to splice in extra legths of tread?

You sure didn't say much in your thread in the tire section. Are you going to tell or what?

Yep,it took about 5 1/4 LST's to complete the set. The left over tread section will eventually be cut up for sidebiters

Right now it's about 17". My links are about 40/60 but I'd like a little more WB so I'll probly make them 45/55 and shoot for 17 1/2 or 17 3/4" WB.

I kinda went a little more into detail in my last reply in the tire section if you want to go read it. It's kindly self explanatory though. Basically all I did was to cut the treads off the Kongs and the same for the LST's,and then just glue them back together. Doing the first one you have to be carefull and get your cut's right. I cut a little on the big side on the first one so I wouldn't screw them up. If I kept making them all like that they would have ended up about 9 1/2" tall. I didn't want to get tooooo carried away so I trimmed them down some.

Now that I feel comfortable in doing this,I know for sure I'll never have to buy a special wheel adapter. Like if I was to build a TXT and want to run Maxx size tires on it. I'd just glue the TXT sidewalls into a set of tires I wanted to run. If a guy wanted to he wouldn't even need Kong sidewalls to make larger LST's or whatever tire you got. You just need to plan your cuts right. Cut the sidewalls big on one set and cut the tread section big on the other set. Doing this, the sky's the limit,a guy can build any tire combo he wants, tire height, width and even rim size. Hell,a guy could even build a set of LST's to fit a 2.2 sized rig if he wanted to.

They sell scissors and glue in Canada also, don't they

Moabs would be another good choice. I've not run a set but I hear they are a VERY impressive tire. I chose the LST's cuz my LHS can get them to me for $18 a pair and the Moabs were nearly double that. If I could get them cheaper I wouldn't mind trying them.

Can you post a pic of how you have your servo and links mounted to your axles?

Thanks

Clark

Sorry bud,I ain't got any close up pics. For the links all I did was make a sleeve, kinda like the factory 2 link arms are but out of metal. Then I made link mounts on the tubes or sleeves. They kinda turned out like this.

The bottom hole is for the link and the top hole is for the shock. On one side of the axle I made one sleeve a little longer and cut a piece out that'll fit the servo. Kinda like this

Just welded it to the sleeve running parralell with the axle and bolted the servo to it. You can kinda see it here.

It seems to work really well but I like RC ALLOYS servo mounts better, they look a million times cleaner than my bootiefabbed junk. I think I'm gonna order up 4 from RC ALLOYS here pretty soon.

On the one over the diff,it's basically the same idea. The only difference is,the link mount is longer and kinda goes up and over to the side(so it'll be in the center of the axle. Heres a pic at a distance, you can kinda see how the center one is built. Sorry,no digi cam or I'd go take a few close ups for ya.
