Default need specific pinion gears?

Going to be setting up a Twin Force with a GD-600 and a Integy 55T lathe motor. What are your recommedations for the pinion gears on the Integy to the GD and off of the GD to the tranny (need special size for the GD shaft?)?

Are you still running the factory 50t spur gear? Chances are you still are so I'll say yes. My son runs a 55t/GD600/stock 50t spur with 7"LST's. On the motor shaft he's running the 3.8(12t) gear,on the GD600 shaft he's running an 18t pinion(the factory one I believe). I chose to drill the pinion out for the GD600 shaft. I personally feel that turning the GD shaft down is a better option. Contact JasoninAugusta on the board,I believe he's still selling the GD shafts already turned down. Drilling the pinion out works well for me but it'll be a pain if I want to experiment with different pinion gears. A turned down GD shaft will let you switch pinions quickly and easily,I'll go that route eventually.

I'm running a MM with a 3.8 gear to a 18t pinion but I'm running a 72t maxx spur gear. Both trucks seem to be geared roughly the same, his being maybe slightly lower. I chose a larger spur and MM to offset having 8 1/2" tall LST's on mine.

Both trucks seem to be geared decently,I think I like the gear ratio of my sons is a little better. I'm fixen to play with custom wind motors and maybe a few different gear options to see if I can get my ratio a little better. I'm happy with it but it can ALWAYS be better, right, riiiiight.

Steve, JIA no longer is doing that. I had just asked him the same thing earlier today.

Very specific info Raptorman, thanks. I have a buddy who works in a machine shop and could turn down the GD shaft for me, I will go that route.
