Default Longer steering knuckle arm....

As I get started on my crawler project I noticed how short the steering arms are on my mad force axles.. Now this may have been posted before ( I did serch) so if its a repetable thread i will accept the flame and it cam be deleted..

I was at the hobby shop and saw some mad force parts and then I saw some buggy parts.. I noticed right away how much longer the arms were on the buggy knuckles.. So I bought them and installed them.. They end up bringing the link out by about 3/8".. Now the link can clear the diff housing without a problem.. You should also end up with more leverage for steering.. The only issue (and its not an issue) was there needed to be a washer top and bottome to fill the gap as the stock knuckle is taller than this buggy one.. Part # is kyosho IF6B

Now I can truely get my project done to the drawing I have been working on.. Just need to finish up on the fiberglassing and machine some link mounts and I can get her crawlin...

thats a pretty dope looking concept. I love how mad/ twin force parts are so interchangeable. FYI the twin knucles have longer arms on them, and two holes as well. I dont know if that is the rtr or kit version though. I like to tube frame.

John.. I wanted to say thanks for letting me know I brought something up that doesnt apply to anyone.. LOL.. I have always thought that the mad and twin force had the same parts altogether with the exception of the obvious gas/electric and tranny... So now I guess the mad force knucles would be better than these that I have since there is 2 holes..

But are the twin force arms the same length as the mad force ones I have or the new ones I bought..? Can you tell by the pic..?

Thanks

I thought the mad and twin were basically the same too untill I got both. The only parts that are the same is the diffs, the diff housing, the stub axles (I think) and the dogbones. The outer housings, bumper mounts/ housing sheath, and knuckles are different. They can still work all the same, but the parts have small differences.

The twin force arms are longer than mad force, and it looks like they are about the same as the ones you bought. Its kinda hard to tell, but the 1/8th buggy deals you have might have a bit longer arm to them.
