Idk...... Just take my time and use a $20 carbide bit........... I've only done 4 of them so far and it takes some patience I move the belts on my press & drill at a low speed I guess that's all I do Rick |

thanks guys. and rick. i will try to get some better pics of the thing outside for that wall. its really awesome that you put them on your page, but let me get some good ones of it outside this weekend. i mean its on my kitchen table... i'm not carving it up for dinner. bart: thanks man. i am trying to get used to the wheels as well. i guess if there was a nice 3.3 size rim out there with 17mm hex and i could get some tires tha same height to wrap them in as the tranches, i would for that. don't worry thouhg the white will get dirty! |

| if you look closely i was able to lay the front down more. just moved the chassis mounting position to the rear more. in the back i completely moved the mounting position about 2" forward of the stock holes. this layed it down a good bit more, and softened it up enough to give full articulation. everything is still a bit stiff, but at least the weight of the truck moves the shocks now. i can pick up one tire and instead of the whole axle coming off the ground the thing actually articulates! |

The fit and finish of the whole rig looks tight, even sticker placement. It definitely looks great as is, but I'm thinking black wheels would look even better.

I was gonna say black wheels too Cordwood, but it's just over done. Where's the RCC stickers? Just noticed that. On the 3.2 wheels, the only ones to buy are Maximizers. They are a great wheel. They are Max width though, so they won't work with pizza cutters My personal favorite tire for them is the Losiu Aftershocks with the open lugs. They look like Super Swamper Boggers. They are over 7" tall too. I have a set if you can't find any.

i used to have some solid lug maximizers in a box for a long time, but sold them to fund part of this build about 6 months ago. now i wish i had them! i have a feeling they would look sweet. they have an offset right? and are 17mm? oh and i dont have any rcc stickers! where can i score some? Great looking super shafty! The gloss black, red and polished bits just simply all come together. The stainless cap bolts give it that mean kid studded look! (LOL) Like the curves in the steering link. The one shot early on makes the Axial gearbox look so puny! Do you have a vid of it in action? |

| Re: BYB by MJDerstine (with good video)
here is the update/review for the BYB at the VA Boulderdash! had a great time at the place as i have said before. you all know the setup, simple and easy. 35t integy, 3cell lipo, axial tranny, 40 series trenchers cut n shut. So this got quite a few looks. not really for scale, and that is fine, its not really the point of the BYB. it gives a great feeling of being close to scale, but with that "i don't care if i scratch it" idea. ran this in the sportsman class, and went well, tipped a lot, but that was my fault. i rushed things a lot, and was nervous since it was my first time doing this. I guess what i would describe this rig as is a super size wraith. its awesome to beat on, and just all around fun. it conquered all the obstacles as if they werent even there. i had quite a few 3 foot falls onto hard rocks, pegged the throttle, rolled out of it, bashed to reverse, pegged to forward, snagged a tire, wrapped an axle. it was awesome. it went through everything i wanted it too. and was really just a hoot to drive around all the scale guys. lots of guys had some good comments on this one too, and wanted to know where to get one, what is it? did i buy it or make it. all that was covered, and i told them all about Rick and his awesome website. Supershafty.com. i was impressed with the tires too, they performed awesome on all the obstacles. competed in the tug of war and the sled, and it did just about as well as the Bob, but for some reason, being a super, was probably a little less overpowering as the Bob was. but still, full pulled, and dont remember anyone out tug of warring me, but two guys really gave it a test! in the end would love more wheel speed for ramping, but that can easily be done. here are the pics of this one. these kids loved being the frame. ! this 1:1 buggy was just awesome for a frame and i had to get a pic of the BYB with it. |
