Not at the moment, took it apart again to shim the axles. Will get some when it's a roller.

Anyone recommend some good 6" shocks with a ball joint on both ends?

6"? Savage are the closest to that. Some HPI shocks have balls on each end. Other than that maybe some 5B shocks. I have some 5B rears I'll measure for you in the PM but they are HUGE.

Actually look in my Cartoon build. I think the dimensions are in there.

I have some CEN shocks that are huge. I think they're of a GST 7.7. I can measure them tonight if you're interested. Springs are super stiff on them. If I recall, CEN had a softer spring option.

Just had a look, 7.5" centers, which would work out ok for me.... but they are £75 a pair, thats a little out of budget at the moment

Any info you give me on them would be greatly recieved

I have found a set of Savage alloy shocks in my parts box, but they dont have a ball on the top and the bottom end ball joints are pretty limited movement wise.

Found these: Billet Machined Type II Shock Set (4) for HPI Baja 5B, 5T & 5B2.0 (L=190, 210mm) for R/C or RC - Team Integy which seem ok money wise, but cant see the top mounting

Picture time

I put it back together now I have done a few niggly bits. Next job is to order some shocks and to get the trans mounted up (once I figure out how I want to do it)
I'm leaning towards the Team Blue Star shocks they make for the front of a 5B. Looks nice and seem to fit the bill.

I think it looks good already

Another little update...

Getting the trans mounted took a little longer than I thought, due to family get togethers etc (a few of them visiting from your side of "the pond" so couldnt get out of going)

Got over to my girlfriends Dads place again and started to machine up the mounts for the Summit 2-speed. I had all the dimensions ready so it didnt take long for Dave to work his magic on the lathe. I had planned to do some of the work myself on the lathe, but Daves been doing this for years (I havent used one in about 15 years) I dont want to risk breaking his machines lol

I have'nt seen this method used before, but it seems to work really well. Will do a How To with measurements and stuff if anyones interested.

8mm rod this time, being trimmed to length.

Being drilled out...

I love machine turned ally, looks sooo good!

Drilled the skid plate to the bolt pattern of the trans mounting points.

With spacers and bolts...

Add trans and tighten. Ta-da!!

Never seens such a big gearbox look so small once mounted...

Just some overall's...

Not sure what to tackle next

Yeah found those on eBay, effectively make my wheels full negative offset, as if the hex was as far towards the back of the wheel as possible. Not a crazy amount of extra width really, but they do look mega lol

No shocks yet, but my CC BEC's arrived

Will be working on my 1:1 till they turn up lol

Your scrub radius is gonna be ridiculous. I hope the knuckles hold up too. There was a guy that made on with huge offsets way back when and had nothing but knuckle issues. If you are using deep dish like Truggy wheels you may be ok. Time will tell

i was going to say the same thing, if the off set is all the way to the outter face of the wheels he should be ok... should be

Might have to see how it goes. The wheels have about a 60mm back spacing, and extenders are about 40mm, so hoping it will be ok. If it breaks knuckles I'll have have a rethink.
