| Need a new motor esc combo
I'm building a fun 10+lb Kyosho Force 1/6 willy build for myself and my 3yr old to play in the snow this year. The axles are built. I have a scx10 chassis. To finish the build I need suggestions for a tranny, shafts...I have revos, and a super solid motor and esc. I looked at Holmes Hobbies first but the ones that I would choose are out of stock. I was thinking a SS tranny with max outputs. Or whatever you guys think . I want the electrics to be able to take a serious load, lots torque, and peppy quick. Here are my start parts. Just a fun rig but I don't want to be fixing and rebuilding in the snow every 5 min. Waterproof would def be a plus. |

I have had good luck with the brood 35t apocalypse, Holmes esc and built axial trans with no slipper on 4 cells. The brood axle buster may be right up your alley though. |

if you want even more power i'd go for a waterproof brushless system. so do you have have the ecs/motor already? anything from SS will be bomb proof and won't break anything but those revo shafts! |

well do you still want to be able to crawl, or will this more of a snow mobile style basher? this speed control is great for high power brushless, not sensorless though. i have one. its slightly larger than a MMP, but smaller than a MMM. very nice! what CVD Setup are you using? For this kind of vehicle, is there any concern about the motor being up to the task to pull that much weight? Reason I ask is that I am newbie coming from RC Racing and in general the 550 4 pole motor types can have issues when the weight gets around 8 lbs. However things may be different in this type of vehicle so not sure if the issues we see don't happen here. Heck, still gettting used to seeing brushed motors lol. For me personally as I wanted a similar power setup, I am trying the Tekin Truggy 2000Kv motor with a Viper VTX8 ESC which is sensored and waterproof as well. Also thinking of trying an xpert waterproof servo, but be curious how well the 7950TH holds up as that is what I am going to use too! Again, very nice build and any advise you have would love to hear it. Last edited by Cainlord; 10-27-2014 at 08:35 AM. |

cool man. that motor def has some speed. on 3 cells it should come to life. i have been happy with mine. in the future, if you really want "break stuff" power use a 1/8 motor around 1500-2000kv. |
