Default Where to buy parts?

Where is the best place to buy replacement parts for a Twin Force? I've only seen them at Towerhobbies, and they're out of stock on most stuff.

I know that parts are a rarity, so I plan on stocking up. Just curious if there are any other places.

I get all my parts at my LHS's. Theres 3 that are fairly close to where I work. One place will price match Tower and the others, depending on the parts, will usually be cheaper than Tower. The one that will price match Tower is a Hobby Town. The guys are pretty snobby in there but they stock alot of stuff and I can go in quick and pick stuff up for a decent price. The other 2 are little privately owned shops. I've got to know them pretty well and usually spend some time shootin the bull with them when I go in but they'll give me smokin deals on most things I need.

Lucky you, my local shop doesn't understand the crawling thing for one, and second if its not gas, they don't realy care. They are the only real LHS. I went in looking for the replacement for the front 1 way bearing, and they didn't even have ANY Kyosho books.

I'll check out hobby Town online, and see if they have what I need.

Thanks

Where do you live? I'm in Wartburg,TN. but the Hobby Town I go to is in Knoxville,TN. It's about 1 1/2 hour away but I mainly work in the Knoxville area so I can just swing by there after work. The guy thats over the RC dept. is into nitro stuff and knows jack shit about crawling. I go there cuz I can get decent prices. I normally get the part numbers to what I need before going and just tell them what I need, that way theres no confusion.

Theres another place in Hairman,TN called The Speed Shop. I go to. It's a small shop and he doesn't stock a whole lot for 4X4 RC's,he's mainly into racing cars. I go there cuz he's cool about stuff and he'll order anything I need. He will normally beat Towers prices. I enjoy going here cuz he's willing to learn about crawling and different things, unlike the guys at Hobbytown.

Theres another place on Clinton HWY. called Trackside Hobbies. He's REALLY small cuz he's just starting his shop. He's probly been open just a couple months. He's pretty cool about stuff and he's willing to learn about crawling

I live in Oregon. Cottage Grove, about 20 miles south of Eugene. C.G. doesn't have a hobby shop, but Eugene has one. They are mainly into nitro, and when I start talking crawling, they look at me funny.

Went in today to the LHS, and both parts I need/want are "out of stock". The front axle hub carrier Kyosho part # MA004F(replace the broken part), and Kyosho Joint (LL) MA112 (to replace the one way bearing).

I have a buddy who is an engineer drawing up the complete front axle on CAD tonight, then I'm calling another friend tomorrow. He makes brackets for a living, and hopefully we can make the axle peices out of metal. I thought about aluminum, but steel would be alot cheaper for now. If they work, then we'll make aluminum ones later. Knowing Mike, he should be able to make then fairly cheap. If not, I am going to give it a try.

Thanks again for the pm, that will make the learning curve alot shorter!

Ok, I am in dire need of a left front hub carrier, Kyosho part number MA004F (pair L & R) If anyone knows of any for sale (LHS or not), please let me know! My twin has been down for over a month now. Tower is out due to greatplains no longer carrying Kyosho. Everywhere else is giving the same answer.

I'm going to call Kyosho on monday.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thats what 've been waiting on. First it was on order, then late march, then early april, now early may......

I'm tired of waiting for them. I know its not towers fault, but I am tired of seeing it sit on a shelf... I'm hoping a lhs has some sitting somewhere, and someone will be the middle man for me.

Kyosho and Great Planes parted ways and, just like when Horizon bought Losi, all the Kyosho stuff on Tower's site is shown as "Discontinued".

However, Kyosho is opening up their own shop in California, so Kyosho parts should (hopefully) drop in price and be easier to get ahold of.

In fact Kyosho has launched a new website but there's nothing on it as of now (as far as parts, etc.) except for the intro screen.

What ever came of the drawing and the steel/aluminum axle housings? I'd LOVE to get a hold of the drawings if you could come up with a copy. A couple freinds of mine both are machinist by trade and could probly build a set easily. If anything,I could probly use Jerry's lathe and mill he's got in his own garage at home to build them. He stay's kinda busy at work so it might be better to build them at his house.

Raptorman, pm me your e-mail address, My buddy (4RnrRick from here) is the one who drew them up. He can shoot you them, or I can post them here. He asked me when he gave them to me if I wanted them posted anywhere. I'll let him know you want them, if you do make some, figure out a price for a set of 4, and I might buy them from your buddy if he wants to make some $$

I called Kyosho today, They told me Ulitmate hobbies ( www.ultimatehobbies.com ) is the first vendor to be sent parts, and if they don't have what I need to call them (kyosho) back, and he'll do what he can to "push it through" I called Ultimate hobbies, and checked their website.

Ultimate hobbies didn't have what I need, so I called him back, but think he's gone for the day. Hope to hear from him tomorrow.

They called me back today, and sent me the part I broke (actually a pair) for $10. Of course they had a flat rate of $7 for shipping, after a few minutes of grumbling I finally agreed, but at least I will get to drive it soon!

Kyosho America. Direct only. Unless your LHS is an official dealer. I've been waiting 5 weeks for my ring and pinions.

Is Kyosho reasonably priced for the parts you ordered?
