motor plate

has anyone moved/flipped around the motor plate on the twin force so that the motors are closer to the front?

or is there any way of taking off the 2wd in reverse - because then you cud just flip the motor plate over and the motors would be right up in the front and u dont need to buy 'drive rods'

on my twin force i took off the factory one way bearing and bought a universal dogbone cup from kyosho then i had tocut a flat piece on the output shaftand thats it just slip it on like you would the back sorry but i dont know about the motor mount

Yeah, this truck has the flipped trans deck. Meet Scratchy, it's green.

I plan on doing that, as well as a revo shaft conversion, extent the wheelbase to 15"-16", independent 4 wheel steering, and a gd600 w/ mag meyham.

for 4wd in reverse, just get another cup for the rear output, and file a flat spot on the front output.

Savage pinion drive cups work as well, are half the price, and 1000x easier to get. Just dremel a flat spot on the shaft and grub it on.

I am 90% done a motor to the front swap. My esc blew out (evx) So I am not in any real hurry to finnish it. But what I did was flip the motor plate upside down. This puts the plate forward and the hole to the chain in the right spot. The motor plate and the rear bearing support fit right back in to holes already there. Tho I needed to run some washers because the rear bearing support now bolts to the large holes. 3 of the 4 holes for the lower chain housing line up. Drill the 4 outer motor plate holes and your done the plate modifications that are needed. Next you need to fab up some new braces to bolt the plate to you chassis. If you have a stock chassis then its an easy drill a couple holes and be done with it. Since I am running New Era's extended chassis I found that the stock mounts don't line up with anything thats there so I need to finnish my custom ones. Hence the 90% done part.

Update: Oh sure 30 seconds after I post this I get thru.... You prolly notice the rear dogbone. Stock mounts don't center the tranny anymore. Which is why I need to modify them.

cheers - i really like your idea so all i need to do is run the sproket at the back this will save me alot of time and i wont need new drive shafts with the chassis i have
