| Does anyone know if twin force axles are different from mad force axles? I think the diff housing is off-center on a twin force, but not on a mad force? And are the internal parts interchangeable? |

| Same housings, axle shafts, stub axles, differential, spider gears, knuckles, bearings and even the screws?(imagine that) The only difference you would have if you were to buy a mad force and a twin force would be the ring and pinion sets. The Twin comes factory with an aluminum ring and pinion front and rear. The Mad Force however comes with a steel ring and pinion in the front and an aluminum set in the rear. Kinda stupid on Kyosho's part if you ask me. The aluminum sets strip out VERY quickly, they should have just used steel sets in both trucks front and rear from the git go. On the other hand it's not that big of a deal,a hair less than $50 can get you steel gears for both axles and your good for the life of the truck. Oh by the way,if you need stub axles get Savage stubs. I've heard a few say the stock ones are hallow and weak. I'm not real sure cuz I've not had an issue with mine. I'm locked solid and running Kongs on my 19 lbs The Savage stubs are a direct swap so no mods are needed, well I think they are from what I remember reading anyway. You might reseach that before jumping in blindfolded. Last edited by Reflection; 05-12-2005 at 07:46 PM. |
