Dismantled. Been thinking about it quite a bit lately though.

You can't stop now, that chassis is way too nice to give up on.

The suspension setup is sweet, I was surprised at how much articulation you got out of that.

Looks great from the side. From the front, yea the axles are way wide. If you could narrow those down or swap in something different it would look a lot better...

I can lose 1/2" to 3/4" easy. I need to get it off the shelf first.

How much you think it's worth? I've had offers before.

Isn't that motor 1/6th scale though? I want to do that but can't find an eighth scale engine.

Excellent job with this cj5! I own a fullsize 79 always wanted to make a cj5 body for my clodbuster. You just inspired me.

May I ask what you made the body cage from ? Brake line if so what size? Do you plan on putting lights in it? Thanks

Cage is 1/4 and 3/16 brake line. The body is alum sheet that I formed into the panels. It's stiff, but pretty thin. Not sure what the gauge is exactly.

That's what I have too, a '79. This is exactly 1/8 scale off mine. Frame rails, hood, cowl, everything.

I'm not super happy with the doors. But I think this axle width is more suitable than my old roller was.

PROGRESS!!
This is not going to be the permanent trany set up, but it WILL get this antique running till I can get the ideal set up fabbed.

The Toyzuki divorced SCX10 motor mount inspired me to get this damn rig rolling. Fabbed up a mount, custom input shaft, and Junfac shaft to transfer the power. Really happy with how it came out.

Also fabbed up a BTA steering link. I don't have enough room in the front for a traditional drag link. I think the length and angle are going to be perfect too. Just need to get the servo mount built next.

Steering? Check

Pretty happy with the stance with the motor, servo, and battery in. This is just a 2200mah batt in there.
