Hey thanks guys. Any ideas on the grill. I would love to put in a full grill, but it would not work on my TVP chassis. It wouldn't clear. Maybe it's time to make an 1/8 scale chassis for this rig.

Bart bender 03-15-2008 04:35 PM

This is now a scale project. Started a grill and finished the body panels.

Taneau cover, bikini top, frame rails, 1/4 eliptical rear suspension, coil front. That's the plan anyway.

spiderxx 03-15-2008 05:30 PM

Looking nice. Are they aluminum panels? Are you planning on a shorter wheelbase?

LST022752 03-15-2008 08:37 PM

Looks good.

120" scale wheel base. Yes they are alum panels. Very thin and easy to work with. Light too. Thanks for the compliments, I am quite happy with the way it is coming out.

Haven't done much. I do more stareing at this thing than work. Measure, stare, measure, stare. Here is the start of the frame with grill hoop.

That grill looks nice... The whole thing looks good. Only one thing stands out to me. The extra metal below the doors. I'd cut the doors lower. Other then that it looks spot on.

Thanks"thumbsup". If I remember right from my original measurements the doors and rockers are to scale. The inspiration pics of mine, which I boat sided, and Alaskin assasin's, red and black one that has raised rockers, and the black 5 that also has raised rockers, so it may be decieving. I do agree it dose need boat sides or the doors changed a little.

The frame rails are going to be lopped off in the rear and it will be back halfed tube. I am still thinking 1/4 eliptical rear and coils up front. I've been playing around with some shipping banding for leafs. They look OK but I won't know how they flex without the truck somewhat loaded. I can't remember who, but someone water jetted 2.2 leafs out of a type of plexiglass? I do some digging and see if I can contact them to see if they can hook me up.

Bart bender 04-02-2008 07:02 PM

Lil more done. I am going to boat side this thing too:twisted:
Four screws attach the cage to the frame.

Well that's not very safe have only four bolts holding the cage on.

OH WAIT it's r/c not 1:1 I love the truck!

Focus07 04-09-2008 02:02 PM

Looks good."thumbsup" Can't wait to see the JEEP finished!
