that looks really long, like the tires should be a little bigger. but im shure it will look great when the body is on. how did you make that frame? and what is the tranny? i noticed some seats in that pic. are you gunna do the interior up also??

the wheelbase is 15 inches, overall length 24 inches, both of which are exactly 1/6 scale. planning on using 2.2 Moabs for a 30 inch tire. tranny and diffs are E-Maxx, as are the front bulkheads. power will come from a single Titan. looking for a top speed of around 20 mph, again exactly 1/6 of the original. it will have a full interior, but i'll glue the doors shut and paint it the correct color.

the good news is the chassis is half done. the bad news is, it's the easy half. still working out the front end (indy), steering and shocks. the back end is all 4-linked and ready for action.

the frame is some kind of floor edging product from Home Depot.

digi-cam is charging so no pics tonite.

btw, i assume "roach" means good? i always thought it meant you were about to burn your lips.

a couple more pics:

the 4-link is linked, still need to tweak the pinion angle:

the front end is suspended and steerable. no more sitting on tires!

still working out driveshafts but it may be driveable soon.

the chassis is pretty much done except for spring rates etc:

well, the point of seeing the real truck was for comparason. The real one isn't a stepside though. are you gunna mold the rc so that it has smooth sides, or just leave it?

nah, there's no way i've got that kind of patience. i don't have 4wd, the power dome hood, or mesh grille either. so it'll just be a purple Ranger build that sort of looks like what my truck wants to be when it grows up.

Any more pics? I want to see this truck.

Also, I see a touring car axle on your table waiting to be locked and mounted with 2.2 rims.

here are the latest pics:

messy wiring harness

working turn signals

overall shot

blingtastic new rims

ciggies on the dash

tinted slider

havin' a ball

my charcoal grill.

still have to get the front bumper done so it looks like the real thing, get the body mounted, hook up the switches for the turn signals, and finish the Mini-Savage for the bed, and of course the transmitter.

if you want to follow the build from the git-go, here's the build-up thread on scale4x4rc: http://s8.invisionfree.com/Scale_4x4...showtopic=2405

What? No cup holders? JK!

Looks awesome. You forgot to post the pic of your rear shaft, but I saw it on the other guy's thread (The Shaft).

check this out:

toolbox for the bed (about 4 inches long and it still looks small in the bed (i can see that getting quoted somewhere), with RCC of course)

wittle bitty transmitter for the Mini-Savage

underside of the chassis. the bottom servo moves a magnet that activates one of two magnetic switches (model railroad stuff) to hit the turn signals. servo is Y-harnessed to the steering so the signals are automatic. you can also see my massive, floppy nine-inch shaft in this pic (ditto on the quote)

working on the front body mount today. progress is fun!
