Default 1/6th chevy ss scale build

Broke out the hot Knife and started chopping away tonight!

Decided to finnaly start building again, This time it will be a Scale 1/6th Chevy Silverado SS. I have big plans for this truck but I do not have all the details as of right now. For axles......Im still undecided.....could be a set of TXT's I have or maybe I will fab up my own this time. RC4wd needs to make a set of 1/6th axles other than Toyota's and Id for sure look at spending the money if they did it. Until then....Im still working on that part. Tires will be 40series Rock Crushers and 40series beadlocks from RC4wd. The body you see in the pics measures 31" long and 10" wide so plenty of room for some scaleness!! The 1/6th V8 you see in the pictures was my initial idea for a scale Engine but now I have settled on fabbing up a Scale Duramax Engine model to stuff in this bad boy. I have been doing some research on how I can make lotts of black smoke and have it be proportional to the throttle or speed of this truck once its rolling. If I can figure it out and make it work then that will get installed as well. I still need to cut out the rear cab doors as these will be on hinges and able to open as well as the fronts. Looking at working electric windows also. Will have a stereo just like my last build but louder Anyway this is what I have for now but I will update as I progress!

I put a set of 2.2's next to it and it looked pretty stock. With the Rock Crusher 2.2's next to it, looks like a set of 32's or 35's. Witht the 40series on it its more like 44's, I like it!! Still undecided on Axles though!:-(

I'm not sure what you had in mind for the electric windows but just to throw an idea out there you could use the mechanism from an old portable cd player that moves the laser back and forth.

Oh ya, the screw actuator. I hadnt thought of that! Great Idea! Funny thing about you mentioning this is I have several of these that I am using in an airplane I am slowly building. They are just like the "Ball Screw Actuators" used on aircraft flaps, or the landing gear "squat" system used on the C-5 Aircraft.

Thanks for the tip

That thing is pretty cool. The more I see these large scale rigs the more I want one.

That 1/6th motor looks pretty darn good under there. I had originally thought of putting one in mine but two things stopped me. First was cutting off the hood and second was that I got my truck rolling and took it for a test drive. Now I don't want to build anymore. I want to keep driving!

How's this for speed?

Default Its gonna be a gasser!!

Well after a long time of trying to make a decission on what to use to power this big ass truck I decided to go with a Venom 26cc KWA 4.5 water cooled boat motor. Its the available upgrade engine for the King of Shaves boat. Claimed HP is 4.5hp we will see about that. After allot of searching I have no doubt that it is a very powerfull engine. I am in the process of modifying it for electric start, wasnt about to pay $400 something for a starter for this thing so im just making it myself. Pics of that to follow soon.
This is going to be interesting!
