I got the new gears for the transfer case and new servo installed. Took a pic of the stripped gear with my cell phone but you can't see any detail. I also tryed to narrow one of the rims for my narrowed G-Hawgs and wasn't happy with how it turned out so I got another set of Rock lizards and rims and narrowed the Rock llizards by a 1/2" and am happy with how they turned out. Went up to Holtwood with rockmahala and his GF yesterday and this things a tank!! I didn't expect it to run with his AX10 but it did WAY better than I thought it would being leaf sprung. With a 14t pinion on the 50t Integy through both Axial trannys it's SLOW!!! Buster came across an Anaconda and tryed to run it over but it had no problem out running him. He gave the roll cage a good work out too, I lost count of how many flops and rolls he did but he didn't hurt it any. Ok here's the pics Rock's GF took. (Thanks Jenn!!!) The ca on my narrowed Rock lizards cracked up a lil and it got water in them so when I got back home I took them back apart and ran a thin bead of automotive goop on the inside seam and added some wheel weights while I was at it and now they hold air again. Still have some other odds and ends to do yet before I can call it done. The green on the bead locks has gotta go, come up with a mount for the battery pack, hook up the steering wheel servo and get the winch hooked up then I'll worry about a paint job. All in all I'm very happy with how it preformed and am so glad I ran across Pigeonfarmboys Willys video which was the insperation for this build. |

looking good My Willy's took a 25' freefall off the cliff at Corna Del Mar yesterday .... and survived Lucky it hit the sand and not the rocks or or even worse ...a person ...they are very heavy.... the only damage was a broken front link ( I drove away) and the cap to my gas can, which is floating off into the Pacific. It hit right at the water line on the beach. (I'll post some of the rigs later) this is the Best Crawl Spot... I've been to: |

we will deffinitely have to go back out i have a set of beadlocks coming with proline hammers i wont use if u want to narrow them they might do a little better than the lizards. Buster thinks he has a bulldozer :-) Now i'm thinking about building one thanks. lol Next time we go i'll shoot some pics of buster with the dozer. I'm hoping to upload some videos of the dozer soon.

Can't wait to see more pics. Quote:
I went back up there today and remembered to bring my camera this time and got a few shots. Got to play around for about an hour before I noticed Buster lost a screw to one of the rear leafs. So I packed up and headed home. The weight I put in the wheels last night helped but he still insists on takein the hardest lines he can find and ended up on his lid or side quite often.

NEVER!!!! lol Finally got rid of the ugly green on the bead locks and got the head lights done. The tiny servo I bought for the steering wheel took a crap so I got a Hitec HS-81 to replace it, works like a charm. Forgot to turn off flash on camera for first head light shot. Took it out this weekend for a lil more run time to see what else I can break. Waitin for pics from a gtg Saturday. Here's some from my solo run Sunday. Got stuck here, wish I had another scaler or two to run with. Or just get the winch figured out. Came out a lil heavier. Some poser shots. Had to leave early, another punisher came lose. Gonna have to build Buster a tool box now.

| X2 Yesterday outta curiosity I put my GPS on it to check it's top speed, 1.3mph... down hill. So that would be 7.8 scale mph?? Took him out to a lil stream next to the house today. Then he about drowned himself. Gonna have to get him some scuba gear if he keeps this shit up. Then he got stuck between a rock and a hard place. Gonna have to get the winch mounted up and workin one of these days. (not that it would of got him outta this) |

Welp, I think I can call it 95% done. Got my winch mounted up and working. Used one of my ruined servos circuit board for the on board controller. Replaced the stock line on the winch with 50 lb test Spiderwire. And made a couple tow straps too. I cannibalized an old Sony Playstation controllers L 1-2 buttons for the 3rd channel switch on my TQ3. Made a gun rack for his shot guns... Made a 1:6 scale roll of duct tape to add to his scale goodies... Had him out wheelin a lil this weekend... Forgot my camera so I only have a couple pics taken by a friend. This thing is friggin awesome!!! I think I'm gonna have to make a snatch block soon, if I get it high centered good the winch doesn't have enough poop to pull it off. |
