I just built up a set of axles similar to what you are running, and i was wondering what you were using for the front axle shafts?

| ??????????? i havent solved this problem yet, cvds would work if the width and wallet allow. i think im gonna use steel outputs and some d shaft to make my own sice they dont need to slide anymore. ill tell you this, the chessy plastic ones are worthless on this rig. if i pin the throttle on flat cement it will peel out for a second then you can hear the axle slapping around inside the axle housing

updates!!! its been a while, i put this project away awile ago but reacently dove back in head first ok fist thing to do was to figure out what to do about axles, there is better ways of going about this but im on a budget. anyway on to pics this is the final product its just a few traxxas output yolks and a piece of 1/4" music wire with a little makshift machine work here is a progession of axles i wa susin th bottom is a stock 2.5 maxx half shafts the male end kept getting twisted up and snapping. so i tried two female ends spliced together, but the splice kept snapping and the top is the new axles , they seem to work great, we'll see how thet hold up next was to take care of the steering and since i dont have money for some uber torque servo this was giving me a headach, i had on axle servo and burnt up some of my cheap servos so i bought 2 ebay high torque servos for like 40 bucks thinking i would just burn them up too, then i got the idea to use both at the same time, i think these are rated a 208 oz each so two together is plenty for now later i plane on upgrading to 1/4 scale servos to get 700 or 800 oz, but the 400oz work good for now i made the servo braket/electronics try out of cutting board from target and some action shots at cabrillo beach i got a bunch o vidio i will get up soon p.s. a new chassis is comming soon with better 4 link layout and shock position |
