What Axles are good for 6th scale???

I have a 6th scale New Bright hummer and I was wondering what axles would be the best to work with  I have a WB of 17.5" and its 11" wide from outer lip to outer lip on the wells.

Wheely Queen or TXT/Jugg.

IMO, it really depends on the wheels you use (offset), tires you want to use (width), and how you want it to look once it's done. If you want the tires to stick out a bit, you may need a wider axle...but if you want the tires to be right in line or inside the fender well lips...you'd probably be better off with a more narrow axle.

Again though...it really depends on the wheels offset since this could affect the width by an inch or more one way or the other very easily.

I'm using Wheely King axles on a 1/6 scale Ford Ranger I've built. They worked out great for me.:)

Twin Force axles for sure if you can find them"thumbsup"

I plan on WK axles for the same body. (Didn't like the yukon style, and would rather have the interior that comes with this body.)

I will have to make a super long driveshaft out of a few driveshafts glued together though. I need to find a good strong set. I'll need 6mm yokes on the axle side and 5mm yokes on the transmission side.

That body is more like 1:7.5 scale, so 2.2s scale out to 17's (what came stock), and the scale width should be 10.825" for the wheels. I'm going a little closer to 11" so that a little of the tire sticks out.

Interested to see what you do with it.

Getting alot of good info, thanks guys "thumbsup" I think I'm either going to go with the WK's or maybe the Twin force. I think the x-factor's would be too wide. I also had someone suggest using an emaxx suspension

Ruthless 09-29-2009 06:07 AM

Well, I got my hands on a X-factor. I got a good deal on it and with 2.2's the axles might work great under the hummer. The only thing keeping me from using them now is that the x-factor came (RTR) and is actually kind of fun itself
