Its turning out great. Looking forward to the finished project. Btw the details on the crate is downright amazing. I bet it makes Indy all tingly inside.

Sorry for no new updates lately. I just went in to the RC short course chassis building business and it is taking up some of my time. I'll get back on the Jeep soon.

Very small update. Got the lights mounted in the grill. LEDs in both.

Added clutch and brake pedals.

Glued the cowling in place and mounted the steering column

I'm hoping to find more time for this soon. I just finished a batch of short course chassis' and finished prep for the Cactus Classis race. After this week, I'll have more time.

Another tiny update. Started working on the cage.

I need to order the brazing supplies but figured I'd get a start on it.

I've just had no time at all to work on my crawling stuff. Short course chassis stuff and racing are consuming a lot of my time. I'm trying to work in little bits at a time.

So you guys are probably wondering what happened to this project. It didn't die. It just went to sleep while I built a CNC router. I have started on this project again with quite a number of new parts. Pics coming soon

Teaser shot.

All CNC Aluminum scale chassis with some CNC delrin and carbon fiber parts thrown in. The painted parts are all thats left of the original chassis. The axles now are Wraith axles as they are the proper width without having to run a bunch of axle spacers.

What a great looking build. You are way ahead of me, though we are on the same page. Do the Carbon shock towers have much side to side flex?

So far, very rigid. They are 4mm carbon fiber. Same thing I use for my racing chassis.

I'm not sure how I missed this build, my current blue Jeep has most of the same body mods without my knowledge of anyone else doing them before.

Your Jeep looks great, I'm anxious to see what else you come up with.

What a great build, I don't know how I missed it either
I'll be interested in finding out what the frame rails are into. They appear to be made of metal now, and either channel or milled out. This is making it harder for me to wait on starting my build.

The frame rails are CNC'd C channels made from 6061 aluminum.

You guys missed it because it has been dormant for a few months.

Woah - incredible build.
I've got a Willy's in the wings - gotta finish the move into the new property before I get my "shop" setup in the barn.
Nice work! Are you going to sell those frames ?!

I've had so many other projects come up that this one sat for a while. Just last week, I hauled it out and I've started working on the cage. Just waiting for my brazing supplies to get here. Then, i have to learn how to braze.

Small update. I got my brazing supplies and started learning how to braze.

I got the basic part of the cage done. As you can see, I completely scrapped what I had done in the previous pic. Just didn't like the look of the previous attempt. I still have seat support bars and a few other little things I want to add to it. Probably no more progress this week as I have some pressing plans that will push it aside.
