Default Project: Willy-Make-It

Started this build after seeing all great ones on here.Looks like a fun build. Going to be useing axial axels,scx10 coilovers, most likely the stock chassie, maybe my scx10 chassie not sure yet(scx10 chassie seems a great fit). Also going to be useing the trailer! I like the extra detail it brings.

Also going to be using novak goat for power and 3cell lipo. For tires im going to use Rok Lox or I've always liked the look of mudslingers. As for the trailer, nothing in stone yet.I'll come up with something...

Hinged the hood today. Also mounted the tranny.Used magnets to secure the hood closed.(there small but pretty strong, used one on each side).Measured the length of it all. 36" from front bumper to back of trailer!

Hasbro made 'em. You can find them on E-bay. Look for the ones with the seats that look cover in canvas.

My trailer came with plastic black tires, and a small straight metal axle. I piched them. Used my rear (slightly larger in diameter) axle that came in the willys. Just drilled the holes out in the trailer and reglued the rim on. Rolls alot better now.

Yeah, I didn't like those hard plastic tires either so I took the rear axle leftovers from the butcher job on the Willys and already put them on my trailer too. I ran across a working pintle hitch for 1/6 scale. (first item in left column) http://www.armorpax.com/Armorpax/WWI...%20Updates.htm

I finally found a set of T-Rex 60's for my Willys and that set me back pretty good (but way cheaper than brand new ones) so the hitch and trailer will have to wait till after Christmas.

Ordered my transfer case today, using the disruptor. The link stays should be in friday. Think this will be the hardest part.Getting all the links the same, and desiding on the shock placement.Using scx-10 coilovers. Has anyone used droop susp. on one of these?

I am going to run droop on mine because the ride height I want and the width of the axial axles compared to the width of the inner wheel wells it so t allow for much tuck. But I want to get a little so I'm going to possibly semi droop. Who knows, gotta get the links set up first.

well mine's full droop... it works great
but I'm ordering some new shocks
http://www.rc4wdstore.com/2/product_...products_id=86

Rich is running a sprung suspension and it works great
I'm going to start my rebuild when I have all the parts in hand
lights steering paint winch and shocks

I would like to use my scx10 coilovers.LIke the action of them. Do have a droop 2.2scaler but prefer the sprung rigs alittle more i think.Just got my link stays.Off to work!....
