well finally made some head way
she is up and running, but only as a front wheel drive, need a set screw for the rear drive shaft
and i need to change the steering, don't like the way it is now. but it works both front and back.
i finally found a pistol grip radio aswell that had enough channels. got it off a member here who built it, but it's to early to give any feedback on it yet.

still needs the whiunch installed, just figured that out last night.
and the scale motor in the rear
dose anyone know of a 1/8 scale motor the 1/6 that i have looks to big, may have to make one out of plastic.

the 2 speed tranny will be fun i think
the drive ratio was by far the bigest headache, had to go down to a 9 tooth pinion to make it slow enough.

ok off to edmonton to get some parts, more to come

ok got the winch mounted up, moved the roller out front for a cleaner look.
also mounted up dual optimal batteries, look good up front there.

thanks for that link to the 1/6 scale motor, still up in the air about what to do there.

ripped the rear axle out again to drill the pinion, man that steel is hard, broke two drill bites already, so i'm going over the a freinds who has a drill press,

can't wait to try it out as a 4wd. also got all the parts for the steering, should be a inprovemnt over what it is now.

more onthat later

and just for kicks here is my 1:1
it's a dodge dakota v8
40 boggers
solid axle swap danna 44, ford 9"

That's some nice tubework. I've been looking for the last ½ hour but can't seem to find it. There was a picture of Clayton's Warthog with an RC version sitting on the front tire, is this the same chassis or another one? They both look just like the original.

If anyone knows where to find that picture, please post up, it's bugging the hell out of me....

ok
so i reglued the rims with Q-bond works great and held together.
i broke the front servo off. broke the case need to find a better way to mount it i guess.
so here is my question. right now i have a emaxx tranny with two motors, which means two batteries (2 lipo 5000 2s). lots of weight.
would a summit tranny work in a rig this size?
if so what moter would you recommend, plus what battery, (would pefer to keep 1 of the 5000 2s)
right now the top speed, and the low gear is about right for crawling. was justing it would be nice to be able to remove 1 motor ans 1 battery for space and weight

thanks

I 've ben watching this build for a while. Very nice.

Try looking at rbgerrish' threads "Dorkstar Hybrid" and "Hera" an experiment in terror" in the 2.2 scale section (if you haven't already). He ran an 1/8 scale brushless with a summit trans in one truck and 1/10 scale brushless system and summit trans in the other and they appear to be stoooooooopid strong.

I just purchased a truck from the vendor section that has a summit trans and I may try the velineon system from my Slash to check it out before I go all in. The good part about this system is it's WATERPROOF!!

Good luck and keep up the bad a$$ builds!

so i'm back at it, i mounted up the summit tranny, and have found room for a MAXX AMPS 8000 3 CELL.
now i need a motor and esc.
looking at the traxxas velineon system, but also looked at the venom 4200 waterproof brushless system

looking for a waterproof system and prefer brushless

any thoughts.

Holy cow that thing is sweet. I couldn't believe it when I saw the original warthog at Ttc couple years ago and now to see someone making a scaler out of it.

No help on the motor situation, but glad you're back on the build!
