| 1/8 scale warthog
well I gess i should start this thread. progress will be slow, (and painful for me) but i will update this as i go. i'm sure many of you have seen Jester's piglet, well here is my version of the warthog. i have seen the warthog in action many times and well, i just really wanted one of my own, but there is no way i was getting the real thing. so here is my 1/8 scale of it. here are some pics of the frame. i will post more once it powder coated. the plan is to run 40 mud slingers emav tranny savage shocks full interior Last edited by TRAV; 01-13-2010 at 11:10 AM. |

Damn cool. Great start. Lots of time in those tubes. Take your time. No big deal I know how slow a build can be. Evan |

Looks like a great start. One word of advice, build it up before you go ahead and powder coat it. On Justin's build, the Savage shocks were basically maxed out in the front and rear. I had to mount the rear shocks lower than where they are on the 1:1 to allow any sort of travel. Will be watching this one ;)! |

i will be running twin force axles but here is where i need your help should i run.... 1. dual or single batteries 2. dual or single motor 3. how many turns motor. 4. what moter, and why any help here would be great. thanks and ya i can take the credit for the tube work it was all John Boyer. he said it was his first and last Warthog. you know it did set me bad a few bucks, but man well worth it. when you see the detail and the craftmenship that went in to it, i did mind paying him what it was worth. i just hope now i don't screw it up tring to add the details. later |

So..... how much did it cost you for John to build that frame? please tell me lol. U should see how I hid/mounted the electronics in my 1.9 buggy (really tight spaces) Pro mod Bronco buggy chassis Also I think a summit tranny with summit motor would be cool. Or the emaxx tranny with summit motor, either one. depending on what batteries u have would depend on if u want 1 or 2

Nice chassis and your off to a great start! Considering the size and weight complete -- 3S Lipo + HH TM BR XL + 7T Cobalt Puller + 2 speed ? Tough Truck Comps: Maybe two 7T HH Cobalt Pullers, 3S 45C, and upgrade the tranny's stock plastic idler gears for HD's. Cheers! |
