Axles for 1/6 mud truck?

After hitting the mud hard with my scx based truck with vxl and 2.2 mud slingers I have got the bug to build a super tough 1/6 mud truck. I have never messed with the bigger scale stuff so I want to find out whats the strongest straight axles I can find (thats affordable) to build a mud truck with. I know with my scx I had to spend a crapload to for all heavy duty diffs, gears and axles after already buying the stock stuff so I was hoping for something can already hold up well. I know I will be using the clod sized mud slingers and probably 2 really stout brushed motors on Tmaxx trans unless I hear of something better to use. These ideas are just from reading others stuff so I'm still open to opinions since I havent started this build yet. Just doing my research first then going to start collecting the corect parts. Thanks for any info/input. T

How much are those? I have no real machining tools here so would have to buy some. I can do most of the smaller stuff tho like links and what not..

Wish I could afford those 1/5 RC4WD axles but $350 each means $700 and I only have axles lol. Guess I will see if I can find some mad/twin force axles if they are 2nd best.

Supercrawlerfreak, nice job on the custom axles man. What those going in? What kind of power you putting thru them? T

Re: Axles for 1/6 mud truck?

I would have to say twin force axles are strong enough. lol Im building a rid with them right now. With no electronics, trannym motor, or batery its a pig at 12lbs+ and once complete it will be a 20lbs+ rig. I have run the axles for awhile in my super and have twisted dogbones but never broke any part of them. Run the with 40series trenchers with no problems.

Check out www.supershafty.com Rick has everything you need and he is great to work with. If you have more questions about them go check out the builds in the mad/twin force section and feel free to ask away.

Good luck on the build and I hope this helps
