Got the cage and body painted, windshield and hood hold downs and jerry can added. Still working on the working steering wheel, floor, and driver. I wanted to do olive drab but the closest Rustoleum Home Depot had was satin hunt club green. |

Update! Going to the beach for Christmas, so yet another revision for this Jeep. I've had a set of Panther Maxx paddles for ever, and setting the Jeep up on em the other day got me thinking....... So I ordered some Maxx Maximizer wheels, yellow because they were only $15 a pair direct from Maximizer, and a couple Turnigy 25C 5800mah 2S LiPo's to go with the E-Revo motors/ESC. After putting the tires on I see I'll have to lift the body a bit and put some tube on the shocks to limit up travel. Trying to get the steering working good was kicking my arse, so I've decided to just have a servo per wheel to keep steering linkages simple and level. I'll be locking the front diff and going 4 wheel steering, I already have all the parts to convert the rear to steer. |

Here she is, all set up and ready for the beach! I had to make a "body lift" to give some extra clearance for the tires, and steering is dual servo, one per wheel lol. Easiest way I could come up with to get good steering with tie rod clearance. |

Who'da thunk those tires would be too much for such a small drivetrain? Snapped CVD's and unlocked my locked diffs. I had to make some body repairs, straighten out the steering, and figure out how to widen it a tad for the Slash tires to clear the steering. I ended up using some Re-Frog stub shafts I had along with brass bushings. Widened it out just the right amount and looks better under the body. Had some old seats I got from someone on RCC a few years back, to mount it I just drilled a few holes in it and zip-tied it to the cage and chassis and then zip-tied Barbie in, as well as her hands to the wheel. With the 4WS it turns super tight! I don't think I've ever driven an RC with such tight steering, and with the rear servo reversed it's fun too. I'll get some vid of it tommorow, was trying to get a little night run but didn't work out too well trying to drive, film, and actually get something on camera. |
